Kiri's Top Notes are so crazy! wish she would have given the A dimunendo some more omph instead of making it piano. It needed to be more dramatic.

Kiri started her career by winning a New Zealand prize in 1965 aged 20/21 with this aria. Just to be able to deliver this performance 22 years later is amazing. It is more of a strain for her now but you'd hardly know it. -- from another "damekirilover"

this is the best version of this aria as far as I'm concerned. sublime from start to finish,beautiful. I've listened to so many versions Tebaldi , Callas, Price, Dessi, Sutherland. This is just exquisite, alchemy in the process. you wear the crown Kiri..this aria was written for singers like you!

She may not be a coloratura but what you've got to admire about Dame Kiri are the emotion and correct intonation she gives to every aria she sings...she's one of my favorites alongside Callas and Fleming.
