I would like to correct you on one point. Scientologists know nothing of the doctrine of Xenu until they have forked over enough cash to reach the state of Clear, and even some more to reach OT I and OT II. Xenu is learned at OT III, and even still, it is a high crime for those to reveal that story to lower level Scientologists. As a result, this is a bait and switch; people join for increased intelligence and personality, then later told this story. One of the reasons why we protest.

The REAL problem is that they don't tell you this story until you attain a level in the Church called OT-III, which takes a long time and costs a lot of money. If people knew the story from the start, no one would join! Also, there are estimated to only be 50-90 Thousand scientologists world wide.
