Your chess lectures deserve to be watched over and over again until the ideas are firmly implanted in the viewer's mind. Thank you so much for making them!
I have lost count of the number of times I've watched your Stonewall Legacy series. On the other hand, I know most of the Stonewall lines in and out now.
@BlackArt1 2.Bc4 isn't really a line, it could lead to many different openings. There are some unique positions that can only be reached via 2.Bc4, known as the Bishop's Game. I'm not really an expert on this move although I have tried it a few times. 1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Be7? is already a mistake due to 3.Qh5! I had that position in a game once a long time ago and didn't notice this! I played 3.Nc3 instead, but I still won.
Hi Matt. Only realised that it's been years since I've subscribed to your vids! Would like to check a few interesting moments in this discussion. 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 Nd7 4.Bc4 c6 5.0-0 Be7 6.Ng5 Bxg5 7.Qh5 if Black can consider 7...g6, and if there will be any significant difference compared to the 7...Qe7 played in this vid (03:00)
And a small point that after ...Qd4 (14:19) White actually has the option to play Qxd4 exd4 Bg7 winning the d4 pawn if White really wants to. GREAT vid thanx!
Thank you very much. I was just in the process of learning how to play against the philidor defense because I'm going to start playing the Italian Game, so I figured I need to know what to do when someone plays this defense. What a coincedence this video shows up today. I had just watched your previous one. That Ne6 moves looks great and is a big improvement. TYVM :D.
At the end of the vid, would it be a bad move to sacrifice the light squared bishop instead of retreating it?

Yep

In such a symmetrical position is it really that bad for black to concede the bishop pair and accept the queen trade? It seems drawish.

@IBOUGHTYAMOM What lines of the Philidor are concerned 'modern'? I saw that book, but from the reviews I have read it doesn't cover anything new.
