I second that. Also, a single payer govmnt payer will absolutely-100%-with-out-a-doubt put the nail in the already half buried coffin that is this country. Look what they just did to Massa....
I agree that health covereage can be more affordable, but Americans should not be entitled to public funded healthcare. I personally do not care about uninsured Americans as a whole however private charity works much better then the government and when they decide to lower my taxes, I will excersize my liberty to help those in my community.
Hey AlbaGoBragh, there IS no capitalism in healthcare right now. But maybe you're either too s****d and/or ig*****t to understand that, by virtue of its antitrust exemption, the healthcare industry is presently monopolistic. (I'm sorry -- I guess your talk radio-provided talking points didn't prepare you well for a debate with informed people.)
And userid8765, the Interstate Highway system is ALSO "single-payer"; are you against that, too?
What happened to civil liberties? Why should I be forced as an American to compulsory single payer insurance? I don't see why if its such a great plan that Americans need to be compelled by threat of government force to take their insurance plan. I recommend you watch "IOUSA" search for it in google video. We have $34 trillion in unfunded contingent healthcare liabilities. We can't even afford the VA and Medicare programs Rep. Massa rebukes as inadequate. Where will congress find the money?
This Massa is insane. Ed has a bucket of lard for an head and an intellect.

The retirees, the veterans, etc MAY be happy with the "public option"....for now. But those public options are bankrupt.
Why do the Progressives want to destroy Capitalism? You are imposing without the consent or the will of the people more and more socialism on us. Why?
I support our founding fathers and the legacy they gave us. I support the Consititution which guarantees all citizens individual liberty and rights.
Leave us the hell alone. WE DON'T WANT SOCIALIST HEALTH CARE!!
