@organist12345 that famine happened in the 1930´s when a crazy, paranoic dictator was in charge of the country. and he did it on purpose, which is bad anyway. and I think you know as well as I do that the DDR was much better than Cambodja or China. Plus economics arent all. they play a big part in a countries success but the standard of living is also important and citizens of the DDR lived quite well, with free quality healthcare, free food in some cases and free education.

If all of those stayed there and tried to build communism I think it would´ve been a much better country. the objective of communism is to make the society advance as one. if implemented correctly it can work.

They couldn't find that in the DDR. The problem with communism is that it unfortunately cannot be implemented as it cannot exist in just one country. There are ways to make a start to get to communism (as seen in the USSR etc) but these have disastrous consequences, which is why communism is flawed.
