in some people's poor, unfortunate minds, some things are "ruined" merely by anyone's attempt at a song other than the original artist's performance on the original recording. god forbid a song live on, i guess. this cover is just fine.

maybe i'm wrong, but i heard this cover was performed the first show by beck after elliott's dead (probably a couple of nights after it happened). it was a tribute, which is why it is special. and i like it.

I love hearing Beck do this... I bet there are many of his songs that if say Stephen Malkmus tried to cover he'd end up sounding just as stiff because it is just so the rhythm of the person that wrote it

@heyjude97 they werent good friends. anyway elliott is my favorite artist and also a big fan of beck but i simply think he could have picked an easier song or did a better job to learn this one. Its the wrong tuning. He muffs the lyrics. Its just not good musically. Its cool he likes this song enough to choose it i gues

@sucramnormark why leave it alone, he was playing this at a tribute concert for Elliott after he died? jesus, beck really liked elliott they used the same producers and most likely knew each other so leave it out
