I was in the airport and I saw two Marines coming home from Iraq,I was the first to clap and walked right up to those men and shook both of there hands.I'm glad I got to talk to them!

Most of us will never see or do any of that but for the few who did this message is for you and all the Vets who have lost their lives, the ones who have done the unspeakable to defend our country, the ones that made sure we're reading this message in English not German or Japenese, the ones that have been kicking ass and taking names for over 300 years

i plan on doing ROTC in college for the Marines (im 15 now) ive always wanted to be a Marine just like my dad (Major Pellegrino) he served in Panama, Desert Storm/Gulf war 1 somalia and this war. when my great grandma died she said to my dad like 40 min b4 she died right to my dad when u came back from the desert u just werent the same i couldnt tell what it was but u were just different (he earned a bronze star, 2 purple hearts, a navy cross, and presidental unit citation. @partyboyhalo Sorry to hear your family does not support you. I am 19 and in the process of joining the Navy. I doubt I could do it without my familys support.
My advice to you is to go somewhere you will learn skills that will serve you after you leave the military. Infantry is great but they dont often train you for a career elsewhere. You sound interested in a combat occupation though so google MARSOC. It is the Marines equivalent to Navy SEALs which is what I am going for.
@partyboyhalo Special operations in all the branches of the military often go on to high paying if not risky jobs. Their combat skills are highly regarded so they go on to guard VIPs, government officials, celebrities, etc as well as working for the CIA, Secret Service, SWAT, and military contractors (mercenaries). They also get a lot more training in electronics and other advanced science and technology fields. Its tough as hell though, so good luck with it, whatever you may choose.

i plan on doing ROTC in college for the Marines (im 15 now) ive always wanted to be a Marine just like my dad (Major Pellegrino) he served in Panama, Desert Storm/Gulf war 1 somalia and this war. when my great grandma died she said to my dad like 40 min b4 she died right to my dad when u came back from the desert u just werent the same i couldnt tell what it was but u were just different (he earned a bronze star, 2 purple hearts, a navy cross, and presidental unit citation. @partyboyhalo Sorry to hear your family does not support you. I am 19 and in the process of joining the Navy. I doubt I could do it without my familys support.
My advice to you is to go somewhere you will learn skills that will serve you after you leave the military. Infantry is great but they dont often train you for a career elsewhere. You sound interested in a combat occupation though so google MARSOC. It is the Marines equivalent to Navy SEALs which is what I am going for.

@partyboyhalo Special operations in all the branches of the military often go on to high paying if not risky jobs. Their combat skills are highly regarded so they go on to guard VIPs, government officials, celebrities, etc as well as working for the CIA, Secret Service, SWAT, and military contractors (mercenaries). They also get a lot more training in electronics and other advanced science and technology fields. Its tough as hell though, so good luck with it, whatever you may choose.
