Buying blank tapes and taping movies off tv.....BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED! You just made me revisit so much of my childhood. For us in the States, 'The Sandlot' was huge and amazing, it made such an impact on my baby brother that he now owns and rocks a pair of PF Flyers (Look 'em up). Why is it that we spend more time as we get older becoming more nostalgic about days of the past of sweeter times? And you phrased it perfectly, "I'm an 80's baby and a 90's Child." 85 Babies are the best Babies. ;)
Mind you I was a serious rocker too! MTV was my life. Beavis and Butthead introduced me to the R.H.C.P, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkings, and of course "Bon Jovi, kicks ass!!" qoute by Beavis. Does anyone remember a cartoon called The Head on MTV? That was seriously freaky awesome..NEwayz inspirational vid, u got ever1 reminiscent recollecting on gr8 times-must chk out "BE KIND REWIND" Michel Gondry movie-Jack Black and Mos Def! proper good feel reminiscent movie which will make u piss yourself!
dude, proper reminiscent of my own dayz! but one major 90's revolution your missing is the GAMEBOY. And since your a music guy! howabout the transition of sony walkman cassette players to sony walkman CD players! i used to record sooo many hip hop/ rnb trax on to cassettes from the radio like Warren G/ Cypress Hill/ 2pac/ Dre/ The Fugees and so on . Then I got a CD player and just bought the CD's instead. I guess I was a rich bastard, had more than 5 channels-had Sky!
I was born in March of 85. And the things that I remember was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters, and the old Saturday morning cartoons you know looney tunes. There are a lot more things that I remember like pogs if that how you spell it lol. But there a lot more and thanks for reminding me man look forward to more from you.
Hi Matt, Im pretty sure that the fresh prince of Bel-Air theme doesnt have the word twisted in it. I and my sis had arguments all the time about this. Im sure it says flip-turned. Anyway mate born the same year and share the same memories. Take it easy mate
I just turned 23 in August. I have fond memories of the SNES coming out when I was in elementary school. When I was little, my parents used to play "Labyrinth" and "The Breakfast Club" for me and I used to dance all around the house to the music.
My house was so slow to get a computer and internet. It was pretty cool to watch the PC grow into what it is now though. I remember playing the original Amazon Trail on the PC and thinking that it couldn't get much cooler than that...
Johnny 5! OMG I loved Short Circuit...and I think that is a movie title that does escape everyone. Born in 1986 and I remember Dirty Dancing, pogs & The Backstreet Boys. Haha oh my childhood, where did u go?
I remember Thundercats and Voltron, Snorks, Smurfs, Sesame Street before it went ghetto, when Snuffleupagus was still around and Big Birds dog Barkley. Haha! Barkley. hmmm...He-Man, yeah, I guess movies like Legend and Willow and THE DARK CRYSTAL, ha! I was just talking about that movie the other day, it may have been made before I was born though. You Can't Do that On Television!!! That was a great show, the best thing to come out of Canada ever.
OK, so it's OUR birthday month and I guess we should reminisce-right. Growing up was riding bikes and playing outside-we never wanted to go inside because running and playing outside was too much fun. I didn't have TV until age 7, (I remember the day walking home from school-long before forced busing- the day we were to get the TV I was so EXCITED-since no one I walked home with had it. We could only get 3 channels-we watched The Mickey Mouse Club with the original cast-Annette Funicello, etc.
You think you're old! Wait till you're thirty six birthday is looming :o( Oh and i remember when it was cool to own an XR3i ... recording tapes for in the car from a twin tape recorder, recored from a vinyl ... Now thats what i call feeling OLD!
Yeah, miss those times when things were a little less complicated than it is now. Now you have more responsibility and learn more about the world. Some of the stuff you wish you never know. Great video and subject Smiv. Again.
i remember yoyos! and pokemon cards! and pogs (and slammers...)! and those weird little plastic monster things... i was never sure what you did with those...
i can remember waking up at 7 on a saturday, and watching live and kicking... 7! i havnt woken up before 12 on a saturday in years...
ahh, the 90s were really really crap... the 90s is the decade nothing will be remembered from... what a crap end to a millennium...
oh come on, 23 is in no way old. Fun to remember how it was back in the days though :) Seeing as im just slightly younger than you smiv I remember a lot of the same things. Take or give a few. :)
1985 woo hoo was the best year ! ANd even tho I live in america that basically was the same here lol I would d a video respone bu ti dont kno how to :(
seeing as i'm technically still a child it's not hard for me to reminisce haha, although i love remembering all the things we did in primary school, like in year 6 when we did a whole school cha cha slide and the local radio station came in and did a story on it
i remember sega master system, the nokia banana phone, the first ever matrix, windows 95, arsenal winning some silver, and the first time they brought out cable
i remember blow-up bags and blow-up chairs, platform trainers, body warmers, alien babies and furbies, teenage mutant ninga turtles and when you had to wait a full week to see the new episode of friends on a friday night :) love you smiv x
lol- omg so many of the same things u named- haha saved by the bell- short circut- hahah i rem bomber jackets 2 & 'high tech boots' lol also things like eating koolaid outta the pack or some old tunes from vanilla ice or the new kids on the block- marky mark - lol those were the days haha & the regular nintendo was the junk haha oh i cant forget 2 mention when cds first debuted hahah (compact discs- hahah) nostaglia is good 4 the past but gotta luv the thought of the future :)weve came along way
I remember going to my sisters acting classes and well... being bored. i also remember when i was five , i would tell everyone that i was six because i thought being six was cool and well, i thought five was "Lame".
I remember all those, think hey arnold was my favourite along with sister, sister... Does anyone remember inside out boy: the boy who swung over the bar and turned inside out?? lol
growing up i remember watcing the power rangers every single day and i remember when people said the world was gonna end in 2000. those are the first things that i think about when people ask me about growing up. i remember loving the backstreet boys and britney spears good days =]
oh man.. well I'm soon turning 18. When I was a kid my country was still a bit delayed, we used to watch 80's movies and cartoons on TV, one day my dad installed cable on our TVs so for the first time ever i saw cartoon network and that's how me and most of people my age learned english ;D. Back in the day everybody was the same and cool ;] Nowdays people are divideing in to groups of popular and unpopular and I still remember the times when playing video games was cool ;]
OH MY GOD !!! JOHNNY FIVE IS ALIVE !!! hahah XD im a late 89' gal and things tht remind me of growin up are tamagotchi's POGS - remember those things in the crisp packets for some reason - Ski Pants - ou knw those leggins things wiv the elastic at the bottom lol my mum used to make me and my 2 sisters wear em oh and me and my sis' used to wear the same outfits cant do tht no more XD Smiv YOU ROCK !!!! x x x <3
I sometimes reflect on things as well Smiv. I born in 1983 great year. NES was a brillant console. I remember the console wars between Nintendo and Sega. I remember Pumas and stickers great stuff. I remember saying Got, Got, Got and Need, Need, Need. Fresh Prince was awesome and the same with Desmonds. Live and Kicking was awesome. I remember Grandstand as well.
Sporty Spice was my favorite too, and I too had quite the youth-celeb-crush on her.
I had a poster of all 5 of them that was 24 sheets of regular A4 paper big. They were almost life size. I started drinking way too much Pepsi because of them even though before that I didn't drink at all. I still have the 1st 2 albums, Spice Girls and Spice World and I can even still play the main piano part of "spice up your life" besides obviously still remembering pretty much every lyric.
pokemon cards, adidas superstars, my fav was baby, yo-yos, sticker photo booths in shoppin malls, johnny bravo, are you afraid of the dark... yeah im 16 so that wasnt too long ago...
I was born in '91 so I basically grew up in the '90's too... Man. Good times. Here in America it was less about stickers and more about gaming cards. I s'pose you were older then but, yeah, Pokemon all the way, haha.
I hear you, though. I distinctly remember being excited about using my dad's typewriter once I got into uni... and then the computers came. :)
90's baby and i loved JELLY SHOES !!! ;)

I remember when it was 081 811 8181, before they decided we needed an extra 1 in there.

Everyone in Philadelphia knows the Fresh Prince song by heart, especially at my school, because Will Smith went to middle school there for two years.
Its a middle/high school, I'm not that young. :p
