  • Rumba is not a rhythm, it is a family of rhythms whose basic members are: Yambu, Guaguanco and Columbia. Students, please search on any one of those and listen to the traditional rhythms. There are tons of videos on youtube of both great players and dancers. Btw, there IS touching in Rumba dancing. It is only when playing vacunao that the movements towards the genitals are implied, not realized. Rumba is a beautiful tradition, please help it to thrive with well-informed teaching.

  • @tonewreck1 The troll is strong with you young one

  • Teaching is a responsability, only do it if you are a master. Don't pollute the net with all this poor and wrong knowledge when the real thing is so beautiful and the masters deserve so much respect.

You seem to have some talent as an explainer and communicator just learn the real craft ( 5 hours a day for 10 years is what you need) and you will be a great master.

  • I second latin skins. People don't get fooled, this guy seems very nice and I don't think he is being dishonest, but he really knows very little of what he is talking about. There is a strange attraction with You tube for beginners to try to pass as teachers.

  • You are a very stimulating and are able to explain it very well, and that (LatinSkinz), is what's makes you a Good Teacher! Thank you and looking forward for more!

  • Thank you for your time and positive energy. Rumba, not rumba. Seriously, it sounds good to me. You "ve taught me somthing. So thanks again Teacher.

  • With all due respect, this is not rumba.... no.

I have watched all of your videos and your technique is on an elementary level at best. If your videos are for entertainment purposes only - fine. However you seem to pretend to be some sort of teacher, and that is wrong.

  • Great videos and blog, Pete! I really enjoyed looking through them and I think your research adds a lot to the blog.

  • Thank you again for your amazing teaching style. I love this video.

  • @gogirldrummer What's the time signature here? Is this in three?? Where's ONE ???

  • Outstanding. Totally made me want to get up and buy a drum... or at least start dancing.

    Thanks!
