  • first time i heard this i shat bricks

  • Take that Mommie Dearest!!!!

  • Nice going there Jake, smacking around the one noble character in the whole freakin movie.

  • That's seriously a disturbing "twist", quite sick.

  • @HauntedLighthouses Have you not seen the entire movie?

  • @HauntedLighthouses hence the twist of the whole damned movie. forget it, jake. it's chinatown.

  • @HauntedLighthouses That's what happened. It's called incest.

  • she's my sister, she's my daughter, she's my sister, she's my daughter, she's my sister, she's my daughter, she's my sister, she's my daughter...

  • 2:30 Jack Nicholson knows how to deliver a hard fucking slap

  • @Filipeeno bogie would be proud

  • Does Polansky have a daughter who is also a mother of his children? Makes you wonder. Thank god he never got mixed up in any weird child business...

  • sister and her daughter.... how the hell is that possible?

  • @GeneralHoohah (I've never seen this movie but...) she had a child with her father I think.

  • Nathan R. Jessep, the early years, before his days as a Marine Colonel.

  • Oh man. I SCREAMED when I saw that twist.

  • lmao i loled when i saw this on tmz

  • @DVanterpool413

I absolutely love this movie, but I lol'd as well. I'm a film student, too, but watched this outside of class.

  • lol he was smacking mommie dearest around

  • HOLY SHIT I thought I'd just preview a bit of the film before I bought it and I got so sucked in after 5 seconds I nearly ruined it for myself! This is gonna be gooood

  • Greatest woman beating scene in movie history.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Faye Dunaway took it like a woman.

  • Lol I was watching this movie in my history class and we watched this part about three times cause it was too funny.

  • LOL. LOL>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    @ 2:34 Jake "i want the Trurh"

it came back around in A Few Good Men"

    You can't handle the truth!

  • IMO...the best plot twist ever...

  • I wonder is this was the first time ever done on film where there were no edits and you can actually see the man hitting the woman for real.

  • i found the slapping to be quite humorous

  • Haha but I bet Polanski was just a little less disturbed than everybody else by the idea.

  • Polanski had nothing to do with the idea of the scene, that was written by Bob Townsend and it's considered by many film historians to be the greatest original screenplay ever written for any movie. All Polanski did was translate the scene to the screen and he did a fine job of it, because I felt the drama and tension in that scene alone, better than any shit film that comes out in Hollywood today. I can't hold account on what he did years later, but he is one of the best filmmakers ever.

  • Okay, then Bob Townsend is the woman-hating sicko who probably jacked off to this scene along with Polanski. To my knowledge, no woman has ever written a story or script where a female character physically abuses a man with such passion. I guess men fantasize about this sort of thing.

  • Seriously? Fuck you.

  • Have you ever seen the movie "Zoo"? It's about bestiality. Does it imply that the directors fantasize about being raped by horses? Not quite.

  • @jollymanbigboy Don't forget that Polanski also tried to ruin the ending by giving it a happy ending.

  • @MILFHaunter Polanski wanted the tragic ending....Robert Townes wanted the happy ending....The tragic ending stayed because Polanski had more power at the time.

  • @MILFHaunter Polanski wanted the tragic ending....Robert Townes wanted the happy ending....The tragic ending stayed because Polanski had more power at the time.

  • This movie came out 3 years before the rape so he couldn't have been thinking of this scene while raping the girl.

  • Roman Polanski is not a pedophile....that girl wanted to have sex with him.

  • "I said I want the truth!"

    YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

  • @Nomoredrama2000 Forget it Jake, it's Chinatown;)

  • @Nomoredrama2000 OMFG my friend said that to LoL

  • it's so sad how SUCH a great actress doesn't have a career today. :(

  • Soooo true.

and now fucking hillary duff is doing bonnie's part on new version of bonnie and clyde 0.o

WHAT IS UP WITH THE WOOORLD!!!!!!

  • All time most heartbreaking movie scene. Sister/daughter - could there be any more heart wrenching situation?

  • Tres bien! :)

  • One of my all time favorite movies. Faye Dunaway's best.

  • What a great scene and a great twist! Chinatown is one of my favourite movies. Thanks for posting this.
