You have got to try gorilla snot... It give the hair maximum hold. My mind hair texture is similar to yours and with that gel it holds a good week.

I have really THICK hair too but I've found that "Edges" hair gel is pretty awesome because it slicks down my natural hair like no other! Its pretty pricey but a little bit goes a LONG ways & it keeps my hair sleek & in place!

Thanks for the tip about applying a moisturizer before applying the gel. I find that the gel alone does not work that well with my hair.

@curvybody2 No not at all, because they are heavily moisturized and tucked away . I don't let my hair get completely dry, so after a couple of days I take it down and condition and style again
