no disrespect to the late Elisabeth Sladen ... but this is really cheesy. it's almost like something Tim & Eric would come up with (if either of them were Doctor Who fans).
I remember this being transmitted in December 1981,..now it looks like a 1980's pop video..lol! good though, shouldve had a series back then, its so sad she no longer with us!
Two things to say: It should say "Woman's Best Friend" and why, in a show starring K-9 and Sarah Jane, is there not one shot in this theme of them together??
@Benton250 During the filming of this intro they must have thought: ''let's use white wine since red wine leaves more obvious stains''. Well, apparently someone on the set didn't really listen ^^
sounds like a cross between Kingsland and Howell's "Who" muzak. hmm, Liz Sladen compared this to "Hart-to-hart" I don't see the connection besides the cheezy '80;s track in that show.
K-9 vs Jason
The epic that never was. :(

So bad it's brilliant and addictive. Love it so much. P.S. I want to cover this on the old synth and board :)

At 0.29 it looks like she's thinking: 'there's nothing like a good glass of wine... and this is NOTHING LIKE a good glass of wine' :)

0:12 to 0:15 is a shot that lingered a little too long....it just made it awkward.

@duffjr96 i bet that was the 49th take too; she looks like she's trying really hard to contain the giggle monster.

@pufferfishish Haha yer or she's about ready to strangle the directer if he even suggests another take.

It wasn't very kind of them to put K-9 up on that wall at 0:41
They edited out the next shot where he tried to get down and was left upside-down with his little wheels spinning forlornly.

How is it that a robot can be cute? K9 is just the sweetest one ever invented! And he'd be much more useful than a real dog!

I just love the 80ies repeat-of-the-same-clips. Also, showing the main characters as a spunky active girl... and a prop with no movement.

Say "K-9" one more time! I can't figure out which is worse, THIS or One Life to Live's HORRIBLE billowing sheets intro!

No wonder Sarah never got any work done when her writing strategy was to get wasted on a street corner with a typewriter.

@saggyrectum What U been smokin'? After all the early Dr. Who titles, they came up with THIS? YUCK!
themirrorsofmymind 10 months ago
@themirrorsofmymind Best opening ever because it's hilariously bad. C'mon, you tellin me you never laughed!?
saggyrectum 10 months ago
@saggyrectum Oh. You mean "So BAD, it's GOOD".
Yeah... Ah, NO!
Have I laughed? Only at the moment when Sarah Jane looks back, over her shoulder, slightly suggestively, as if she and the "tin dog" are lovers. FTW!
P.S. I thought I was the only one who ADORED Sylvester McCoy! I actually use "The7thDoctor" as a screen name, sometimes.

0:26 no offence but this show is about K-9 so I really doubt people want to see Sarah drinking wine.
