SPoD isnt that hard really, YC like you Ive been playing since VF1 days. SPoD was always really hard for me , because I was lazy and always used a pad. The DLC (Dragon Lance combo) really forced me to accept stop using a pad.If you use a Joystick with sanwa parts, its much easier. the trick to landing it in a livematch is either evade one of their attacks, the Spod, or back up, let them come to you then SPoD. Another dirty trick is SPoD them as soon as the match starts.

At least I feel a little better for never having landed a SPOD. I never knew it was so well known in the VF community. I'm just an amateur player but I've never understood how one can land that move. Thanks for posting.

i beat Konjou Akira a few times but he will make you work for it

the thing with SPODs is you need to commit to the move. you can't see if it hits THEN do the rest of the inputs. SPOD isn't that hard when your hands get used to it though.

Agreed, you basically have to input the entire combo every time and hope your timing was right

If I could suggest something, I wouldn't try to throw out anything while Akira's on the ground if you know you missed the combo. Hard to tell sometimes in VF, but At least you won't get punished by whiffing a move when Akira's waking up.

But overall I think with a bit of work, you'd be a fearsome Akira in no time.

But I have to disagree about Akira being the toughest challenge. Being a grandmaster Goh player is hard as hell. Akira is complex, no doubt, but winning with Goh.... *sigh*

Its not too bad performance, Ive seen tons of weaker Akiras in online. Of course a player of Konjou's caliber has no trouble dealing with random low punch-doublepalms, dragonlance on the ground, _jump punches_ (ok that was ugly). But overall its a matter of execution. Use Akiras dashing elbow more, and try not to throw out so many low punches as a defensive technique. Evade more when youre in trouble. Dont overrely on P+KP+K either. Or at least mix it up with P+K 6P.

Wow you guys are a little hard on this guy. Anywayz, you put up a good fight. Could use some work on akiras use but you couldn't, right? Konjou is a tough dude to beat and pretty much owns everyone as far as akira goes, so good job for the effort. if you still play feel free to get some games in with me. GT is UKDiddy

only did spod 1time in 8years,wow. i do it 90% of the time.i learned how to do it in a month.and i do it on a xbox 360 controller analog stick systle.don't believe me check me out my gamertag is setttrip.its not hard you just buffer the hole thing in at once.not saying my akiras the shit,i'm trying to get to where konjou is,his the reason i pick up akira.and why i sick with him though thick and thin because the reward is sweet for the person who gets good with him.and in vf5 r his looking better
