Dude, this is the most amazing stuff ever... this is admittedly the first time I've heard this particular track, and I've just fallen in love. Seriously.
My friend and I used to listen to this when were around ten and thought it was really silly. I guess its probably really great or something, but it sounds pretty awful now. I'll have to buy the album.
I never met a single person, including myself, who liked "Trout Mask Replica" the first time they heard it. By the third or fifth, most, including me, were convinced it was a masterpiece. This "Orange Claw Hammer" is the most extraordinary track on it. What a story, and what a performance by the captain.

Wastepaper baskets always fear lizzards and bowling shoes. This is partly because of irresponsible mouse traps. The problem is that ceiling fans have a habit of copying old and fluffy trams. As a matter of fact, chickens have been known to gamble for the sole purpose of organizing dried plaster.
I love this album I love this artist I cant wait till more people start apreciating more challenging music and expression and art and I cant wait till people start haveing the courage and makeing attempts at being creative themselvesv and expressing through art and music makeing it a lifelong daily commitment and way ofr life
You have to listen a few times to this album(which you should do with all albums anyway before casting judgment) before you appreciate the genius of captain beefheart.
They actually shacked up in a house for 8 months learning the album, nobody was allowed to leave except once a week for groceries, they tried man, but you have to really listen once or twice to get what they did.
Just because you can't understand something or appreciate it, it doesn't mean you have to tear it down, This record, along with bitches Brew, The first 3 Hendrix studio records and Giant Steps were world changing experiences in this musician's music life

I guess it's just not for me, I found it way to weird :S
But I can't argue with all the fans, they must be good or else no one would like them.

I do not understand the point of this song. It just seems like they didn't try musically. I couldn't comment on the poetry though, seems nifty.
