Just one comment - the word "cai" should be pronounced as "tsai" - the C in pinyin chinese has a 'ts' sound. This is great that she is learning Chinese songs. If you haven't already - I would suggest the "Play and Sing with Mei Mei" videos. They teach mandarin and songs and games - Kenzie loves them.
We have them too... but Kenzie gets stuck on one phrase and can't seem to go anywhere beyond that... And she's 5! I'm no good with it, either, since I can't find the pinyin for the entire song anywhwere! Your daughter is waaaaaay ahead of us! LOL! She is doing a great job!
Oh, I wouldn't let that get to me. Kenzie went back and forth on the potty training stuff... her big impetus to actually do it was because she wanted to be with the big kids in the other room at daycare, and using the potty was one of the conditions. LOL!
I'm not fluent in Mandarin but I knew the second song and she did an excellent job. Does she learn chinese from you or does she go to chinese school? I'm hoping to send our daughter to chinese school to learn either Mandarin or Cantonese :)
She only knew "mama" when we brought her home from China when she was 8 months old because she was in foster care. I subscribe to Mandarin podcasts and get a word emailed to me each day, plus we have many many Chinese books, videos and cds that we listen to all the time. We're learning together, but I learned these 2 songs and sang them to her about 10 times a day until they stuck. I love Krystal's ballet dress! So very stylish! Does she really like carrots? ha ha!
That is so wonderful :) I think it's truely fantastic that you are teaching her to be bilingual. You truely are wonderful parents. Krystal doesn't eat carrots when she is with me but her grandmother gives her carrots mixed in with her food.I think she likes how her grandmother prepares carrots. To be honest, I don't know how to cook so I've never seen her eat a carrot... lol :) But I know for a fact that she does eat carrots everytime she is at her grandma's house visiting (about 3 times a week)
I know these 2 chinese songs, and she sings very good, she is only 2 years old, I think she has genius at singing, maybe she is a good singer in the future.
I'm jealous:)
