It is an original. It is recorded from an original 1982 vinyl copy of Mesopotamia. There is a shorter version that appears on another simultaneous release of Mesopotomia. So both versions of "Cake" are original. The whole business is a confusing mess; I think they were trying to compete with Factory Records.
