@SIGNifYOUcan great. glad to be of a bit of service with this. this came from my long years of trying to frame Deaf culture appropriately to the general public, to my ASL students, to other Deaf people, etc. Im so grateful to Dr. Paddy Ladd for doing his research and publishing his work. Yes, it's not complete and will never be, but it's time for us to take Deaf Theory or rather DeafMute Theory to the highest and deepest level possible.
Please leave 5KENX out of your forced spoon feeding about deaf, etc. We are living in land of free choice... My question is " Is Paddy Ladd real deaf or just researcher to gain degree"
@silentone15 Hi. Thanks for your opinion about 5KenX. I am aware of how he can rub people the wrong way and he's tried to do that to me. I'd appreciate if you respect my decisions on how to respond to him. As for your question about Dr. Paddy Ladd, yes, he's Deaf, both physically and in attitude, and he's a special special person! pdurr or People of the Eye blogspot posted videos of his presentations so you can go see him for yourself. Many hearing people get degrees & money off us, u know.
Yes -- Paddy presented a "unified field theory" of Deaf culture. We have had many people studying Deaf culture mentioning parts and aspects of Deaf culture, such as Higgins, Padden & Humphries, Levine, Myklebust, Woodward, and many more, but Paddy is the first one to bring many of those different theories, parts and aspects into one specific framework explaining WHY we see all those different parts and aspects in our Deaf lives.
@danieljamesgreene can you specify what you'd like from me - general types of people or specific names?

@ASLElla I'd like both if you would, so I understand who you're talking about. I don't want to make any assumptions…

Thanks for the response - I fully agree! A provocative idea that leads to more self-reflection and exchange (and of course debate!) is a great thing!
l am looking forward to watching your other videos. All the best to you!
