  • Lol @ booking confirmation for England

  • congrats on 9000 views...a great vid!!

  • if you want an oil spill done right BP needs a place in the cup

  • lol'd at the oil spill.. but at 3:47 did he stick his finger in his mouth after handling zebra poo?!

    EW!

  • what about the aussies

  • You said Tender Loving Care Rob with a B.

I think what you meant was... Tinder Love And Care!! HAHAHAHA!

Or TInder Lighting Concenctration. All are equally logical interpretations of TLC, given the subject matter!

  • Oil Spill... I lol'ed

  • Hilarious funny your the king of fire just don't dis the us

  • You, sir, are the master of fire. But as a former teacher I admire even more the ways you have of making your vids interesting.

PS Can I get Roberta's private e-mail address? I want to do some research.

  • lol you crumbled the zebra turd and then you licked your finger XD

  • 3:47 you hold that zebra turd in your hand then you put your finger in your mouth O.o

  • Woah, man. The oil spill was Nigel's fault.

  • 1 person was from germany which is represented by a big boring text book

  • we seem to have an oil spill, i guess that can stand for the united states. rofl

  • You stuck your index in your gob after crumbling up the poop.

  • lol the oil spill can represent the united states, awesome!

    gj from the USA

  • You're genius dude.

  • I bet that smoke smelled like shit :p

  • @RedDemonSRT4

    Yup.

  • lol THE SUN IS THE ALL SEEING EYE!!!! at 2:02

  • you know most people just drink coffee, but Rob likes to light it on fire.

  • lol at the oil spill jab, shouldn't that be representing England still, BP is British. But the oil was spilled in our backyard so fair enough.

  • "Okay, so we have an oil spill. I suppose... that can represent the United States" Lmao thats funny, i wonder if we ever fixed that, i stopped paying attention to the news for a bit now XD

  • dang i have got the same knife

  • wahaha did u just lick ur finger after touching that turd???

  • @buster999121 he was testing which way the wind was blowing.

  • @spinklevic wat does that have to do with licking ur fingers???????????????????

  • @buster999121

    Evaporative cooling.

Fingertips are very sensitive to temperature differences. Wind hastens evaporation. The side that feels cool is the side from which the wind is blowing.

Of course I could tell the same thing from the direction the smoke was going, but the idea was to avoid a faceful of smouldering-turd-smoke.

Mostly it was just for dramatic effect, though.

  • did you just handle zebra dung and put your finger in your mouth?

  • @theonenamedJAC

Afraid so. Dried Zebra turd is mostly just grass. though.

  • awesome stuff great vids subed

  • @zak4tt4ck

Thanks. Hope you're still following the series.

  • Paul the octopus

  • @21ShadowWing

Stay tuned for the vuvuzela video coming up.

My own New Improved version of the vuvu.....

  • You didn't use America! (not that i'm complaining)

  • @CrissAngelimatator

The "oil spill" was absorbed by the shredded paper. Which is what caused it to burn so vigorously (and smoke so much before it ignited).

  • ROFL!!! o.O we got an oil spill... guess it can represent the united states,

  • Coffee for Brazil? Fair enough.

Loved your jokes, especially the oil spill one.

  • @Kateydid18 lmao i was just about to say that

  • @Kateydid18

    Crocodile Dung-dee ?

(It had been lying in the sun for months. Basically just dry, slightly composted grass. But yeah, it is a bit gross. Didn't think about it at the time.)

  • I subscribed to you and laughed more than once during this video. Still waiting for you to finish the 8th way to make a fire.

  • @Kateydid18

I'll get onto it. I've re-filmed it a few times already, trying to introduce a new character.

  • nice video

  • @vytenis911

    Thanks.

  • Excellent video Rob. You are a funny guy. What a great way to demonstrate fire lighting. I am now a subscriber.

  • @seanmulhall

I have a lot of fun making these. Glad to see that people enjoy watching them.

    Enjoy your videos too.

  • Bob is my uncle...

  • Hey man, I've got a hat just like yours (minus the feathers)! I got it in Pietersburg during the World Shoot in 2002.

  • @Cameron1942

Great hats. I like the fact that the sides are ventilated.

Good for summers in South AFrica.

  • Bob is your uncle !, Very original love it. Keep it up Rob.

  • Hahahahahaha xD oil spill~~ Nice. :]

  • Great video! Very entertaining & clever :o) - love the oil spill gag! Thanks for the response.

  • I'm sorry to hear/read that FIFA made those nasty things in southafrica (I live in Argentina and trust me I know how it feels that some random multinational gets into your country and tries to get everything, even the change out of your pocket)

anyway, in a brighter side, you mentioned in one of your comments that there are 7 basic ways to make fire, I found out 3 by now, concentrating sunlight with some kind of lens, making sparks with something and friction... what are the other 4?

  • @nachoijp

Convincing performance against Nigeria. I am looking forward to the day it all comes together for Messi. He could go on to score 3 in one match.

    Other ways of starting fire:

    Electrical resistance

    Electrical spark

    Spontaneous chemical combustion

    Nuclear

Geothermal (but you need to live around a volcanic hot-spot)

Let me know if you can think of more....

  • @ROBwithaB

I am assuming here that air pressure (as in the fire piston) is just another form of friction. But you could call air pressure another way of doing it.

Of course all fire is just a chemical reaction. We simply have different ways of initiating that reaction. So I am considering the different possibly sources of external energy for ignition.

And the nuclear option is not really something I'd like to try at home, so I tend not to count that (except for the big reactor that is the sun)

  • @ROBwithaB well... it is a way of friction, but it's at a molecular level and it responds to a different principle than rubbing two sticks, this is : temperature = volume/pressure (or something like that) and yes, I think the fire piston is what I was thinking of... I never heard of it before :P

  • @ROBwithaB wow... nuclear?? I thought all the 7 were for camping, I'll try to remember my reactor next time hehe...

yeah, it was good but not brilliant, Maradona was right to say they need to improve the performance at actually making the goals :P and thankfully Messi is playing good now, not like in the last world cup

about other ways... maybe creating a lot of pressure with something thus getting things heat up, same principle as geothermal but artificial. don't know if it's possible though

  • Well done RobwithaB - handy draw for SA yesterday - hope England con't crash and burn - lol

  • @tvr2910a

    Thanks.

England will need to play a bit better than they did against USA if they hope to advance, methinks.

  • @ROBwithaB I subscribed to you and laughed more than once during this video. Still waiting for you to finish the 8th way to make a fire.

  • this would work with a superball without a design in the center right? Then would youhave to worry about being parallel?

  • @JSFER2

Exactly. The design in the center just makes it a bit more complicated. I like to give myself challenges.

I don't know what a superball is, but the requirements are:

it must be denser than air (not difficult)

    it must be completely transparent

it must be spherical (a sphere is a special case of a parabaloid lens, it means you don't have to "aim" or tilt the lens to get it into the correct orientation).

Try it out and post a video response....

  • @ROBwithaB a superball is what we would call a rubber ball where i live. pretty much what you use in the video is a superball. and i will as soon as i get one

  • haha it really seems like you don't give a damn

  • No more Virgin Pines?

  • I liked the Zebra Turd.. and the way you said it.. very funny

  • @pokedude6712

    Cheers.

Maybe I should start selling zebra turd fire-starting kits on ebay...

  • @ROBwithaB Or you could sell to some scout group's... It would earn them more fire-making badges.

  • Another great video, Rob! I loved the oil spill joke! Don't let political sensitivity get in the way of making me laugh, please! :) Anyone who fills their car up with fuel is guilty anyway, and BP may not be American, but the US let them drill there, and didn't regulate properly.

  • @SdajiTurnip

Thanks. It's a fine line when something like this happens. One wants to be able to address it with humour, but not in such a way that it hurts peoples' feelings.

Unless those people are directors of global energy companies, of course.

Although those bastards probably don't HAVE any feelings in any case.

  • OONGA BOONGA!

  • @jenzatron

    Hi Jen.

  • man, that was just a harsh comment for the US, considering BP does stand for BRITISH Petrol....sad how the US has to fix the world's problems...or make them worse in some cases.. lol

  • @elbauzan

Yeah, sorry. That was probably a bit harsh.

The oil companies are massive global organisations that don't really seem to be answerable to ANYONE.

Everybody seems to want to blame someone for the mess, but of course the basic problem is that, within 2 or 3 generations, or entire lifestyles have come to be dependant on oil.

I filled up at a BP pump in South Africa this weekend, so I am as guilty as anyone...

  • @ROBwithaB

No wrong, you had to go to a BP station 'cause there isn't realy an alternative for the consumer. That is the problem: the power of the consumer is overclassed because of the coruption of politicians. This oilspil incident is an example of the darkside of globalism; huge companies play with the earth's resources and nature without any regard while having only profit in mind. Obama should have ordered the destruction of the well asap instead he let them save 'their' precious oil first

  • @elbauzan 40% American company, American rig, American regulations, American workers and Americans use the most oil, I think you're forgetting who's fault the oil spill was

  • um, am i the first to comment on the fact you crumbled the zebra dung BEFORE you licked your finger to check for wind direction?

  • @nintendolunchbox

    and the last, hopefully...

  • Loved the joke with the oil spill...

    Muito bom o video adorei!

Os estados unidos ja devem muito ao mundo por danos ambientais e por simples estupidez sem falar no dominio capitalista... Petroleo não é um problema novo pra eles, eles ja fodem o mundo todo com isso.!

  • @lucasmontec

Of course, there's huge oilfields being developed now off the coast of Bazil as well. It could have happened anywhere.

Do you think Brazil is going to take the title again?

  • @lucasmontec

aside from the fact that the oil comment did make me laugh, its good to see you're post new videos ago. hope to see more soon.

  • great as always Rob... keep up the good work

  • @75blain

    Thanks.

I think I'll make a "sneak peak" video to show people all the different thigs I am experimenting with....

  • You never fail to amuse me Rob :P

  • @EvilBproductions

Cheers, mate. Feel free to share with any football and fire fans.

How do you rate England's chances this time around?

  • @ROBwithaB Hmmm slim chance :)

  • Good to see ya again Rob lmfao love these vids and how do you pronounce turd again?? >:^)

  • @TastingAshes

As slowly as possible. One needs to savour the sound of it...

  • @ROBwithaB bwahahahaaa I love your sense of humor Rob :)

  • Dagger to usa.

    wait thats me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @gk2011

Of course, half a milion tourists flying to South Africa to watch football doesn't really help wean the world off its addiction to fossil fuel.

So I suppose we're as guilty as anyone.

  • you touched zebr poo poo...mmm now cook dinner

  • @Steadno

    Yummy.

Nah, it was lying in the sun for months.

Probably more germs in my mouth than on the turd.

  • Awesome video! I love to know new ways to make fire!!!

  • @Clownloch

More on the way. I was experimenting with spontaneous combustion of drying oils recently. Very scary stuff. Will post soon.

  • lmao ouch on the oil spill joke, hahaha

  • @cutlerylover

Sometimes the only defense against tragedy is dark humour.

Sympathy goes out to the millions who are and will be affected.

I suspect the American people have some difficult decisions to make, going forward....

  • @ROBwithaB yes and thank you, the shame is its was still spilling all this time, what peopel do for money is sick...ironically now that we lost thousands of gallons of oil gas (for vehicles) is cheaper explain that? lol

  • @cutlerylover

When the doctor tells the addict he has to kick the habit or die, and the addict tells the dealer, the dealer lowers the price to keep the addict hooked.

Or maybe people are becoming more aware of the consequences of their actions and driving less?

Or maybe people are just going down to the beaches to collect their own.... ?

  • @cutlerylover

    Woohoo for cutlerylover!

  • Rob, that was awesome on so many levels...the oil spill, the fact that you made fire with a bouncy ball, and the text at the end especially! Thanks for the video, I really look forward to them.

  • @rico522

    Cheers.

I'm pleased people are enjoying them. Sometimes (like when the neighbour's dogs are barking or the clouds keep moving over or planes fly overhead or the wind overwhelms the microphone etc etc) it ceases to be fun and just becomes hard work. It's good to know that the vids are appreciated and I didn't completely waste my weekend.

Don't want to lay on the political commentary with too heavy a hand. So my little rant is tucked away in the last 2 seconds at the end of the video.

  • Foopydoopydoo

  • @3Triskellion3

    I concur. My thoughts exactly.

  • @ROBwithaB Fliggle diggley?

  • @3Triskellion3

    Oonga boonga, sir.

    Oonga boonga.

And that's all I have to say.

  • @ROBwithaB Try making fire with chicken nuggets :D(or roberta's boobs)

  • awesome Rob...great digs at the countries concerned..love the "about 10 km" and then you were there..I choked on my cauliflower cheese it was that funny!! brilliant stuff again!!

  • @bassfuryvi

Thanks. I was surprised as you were. This tele-portation function on the new camera takes some getting used to.

And you will notice that I judiciously avoided mentioning any of the middle eastern teams...

  • "Bob's your Uncle" .... :-)

  • @RonRay

I was waiting for Bob to pop his head into the video at that point.

  • au moins il a un opinel pour représenter la France

  • @masterdurchgriff

    au moins....

They're great knives. I have a few in different sizes.

    Sorry about the handball joke.

  • Lol! nice one Rob

  • @SpearTheAlmighty

Cool. Starting to get into the spirit of the big event.

    Are you in SA now?

  • @ROBwithaB Nope, wanted to come for holiday but we are little busy at work. Will be supporting Bafana all the way though.

  • You are a very creative man.

  • @TaoistPeaceable

    Thanks.

Maybe creative with MAKING fire, but a bit destructive once it gets going.

  • I love your vids Rob. I was happy to see a clip from you in my inbox. Enjoy your soccer and if you cant stand soccer,,,,byt mar oppie tanne vir n rukkie.

  • @Shashen

I've bought tickets for some of the games.

Maar hopelik sal ek nog tyd he vir die meer belangrike dinge innie lewe.

  • haha.. i was just repesnted by a big boriong textbook.. lol very cool.. greetings from germany.. :)

  • @CausesSideEffects

    Greetings.

Ja, I know it's a bit of a stereotype, but that's still the way that German football is perceived. The Germans usually do well, though, so we know that their approach can work. Especially in the big tournaments, where it's sometimes more about NOT LOSING than winning.

Then you just need to practice those penalty kicks for the penalty shootouts.

  • @ROBwithaB ok,,,so you do know your football.
