  • I have nightmares of my brothers dying and being tortured by those monkeys

  • Check out a beautiful song "The Boy With The 1000 Yard Stare" by Big Country. :-)

  • kids in my school say they're rebels. According to them, a rebel is a person who wears Che t shirts and smokes pot. A real rebel in years before would stand for a cause they built and stood for and even die for it. I know those idiots wouldn't be man enough to die for anything. They can lick my but and suck on my balls.

  • SPEAK UP MAN

  • @laserscope1 And the only one who's willing to go war, has truly never been there before.

  • @goldbullet50 "And the only one who's willing to go war, has truly never been there before."

Adolf Hitler was a common soldier veteran of the First World War, and he was wounded at the Battle of the Somme, which gave him a two month stay at a military hospital. Just typing.

  • Some really terrible things have happened in this world.

  • I still haven't really understood what really is that 1000 yard stare? Something that your eyes are weird?

  • @goldbullet50 the 1000 yard stare is when a soldier experiences extreme trauma. now when this happens the victom denies it or mocks it to deal with the mental stress, the victoms that denie it usaly go into a mental state of were there eyes apear blank and unfocused becuase they cant deal with there emotions they detach and revert to what they are trained to do 'kill and survive' or mental breakdown 'unable to fight due to shock' the condition is 'combat stress reaction'.

  • @Bengelen Is it like you are example ordered to exterminate a whole village of civilians in war and you get a lifetime trauma and later when some firefight occurs, you just start staring at the horizon and get distracted from the battle and then you suddenly kinda "woke up" and realize whats going on and start fighting, or at least trying to fight? Or is it like when you kill someone, your eyes look kinda "dead", their not a "mirror of soul" anymore, just two goggling balls?

  • @gold

No, all stress disorders are temporary. In time you will recover. It is most commonly experienced as a subjective perception of one's consciousness being detached from one's emotions, body and/or immediate surroundings. You are both conscious and functioning, but at the same time you feel like you are not really there. This can happen to anyone caught in extreme situations. Perhaps you understand better if you view them as humans instead of soldiers in an anti-war propaganda.

  • @goldbullet50

Yes, your eyes look weird, as in your eyes seem to be unfocused or focused on a point very far away. You look out of touch with your immediate surroundings, as in you look detached from what is going on around you. It is a combat stress syndrome.

  • Really good, but more volume on the speaking, less volume on the soundtrack at 2:11 - it is overpowering.

Definitely remove the Cambodia shooting / kid running from Napalm - everyone has seen it before.

  • wish u would have spoken louder but it sounded like a good poem

  • It's a look in a soldiers eyes that appear to look beyound you or through you when your right in front of him. It comes on after many hours in a stressful or life and death situation when you've had extreme amounts of adrenalin flowing. You can be speaking and you feel he is not hearing a word your saying even though he hears every sound coming out of your mouth. He's fatigued beyond his body's tolererances, adrenalin is still pumping. Hours in a situation can bring this on or ten minutes.

  • Thousand-yard stare happens to soldiers who are to fucked up. If you fight 2 days straight you have to take some drugs, in WWII this drugs was speed, it kept people going but you use op all your natural reserves in the body and push yourself mentally and physically to extreme limits. I feel so bad for the people who fought and lost their lives in the face of war. I hope war on a global scale is a thing of the past but i think it isn't.

  • HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!! Did they really just waste that guy on camera?!?!?!?!?

  • @Baseball7296 No sir, Water torcher has been around for generations, no scarring, no bruises- well, non worth proving. did you know a baby may drown by only 2inches of water?

  • Respond to this video... Oh wait, the kid at 1:20. yeah, he dead. yet three more just took his place amongst the brush below the monekys

  • I lived with a war inside my head for nearly 20 years. I have the stare.

  • I don't recommend this footage for people whom in which don't understand it. Freedom is not free and some times hate blurs the focus. Don't let it happen again

  • Aren't Liberals and Communists shit-heads? They are the reason there is war.

  • @bravo23delta patriotism.. thats the problem.. puberty, the will to fight whatever becaus you feel unstoppable and a good dose of patriotism and flag.. oh yeah.. and 1 m16 assault rifle

  • @bravo23delta How exactly are Liberals and Communists the shitheads when they advocate for less military spending and more on social rights?

The "Communists" you're referring to are the imaginary heartless villains that Glenn Beck has fed you since you were a baby.

At most, they want to be free and live in their country their own way... not under the constant grip of the USA. So piss off you little misinformed prick.

  • @shadowmare97 Communists do exaclty what you stated- take away from the military and give to social programs. Shithead. BTW - who is Glen Beck?

  • @bravo23delta Not to mention the fact that recent republican funding cuts are depriving your nation of things such as veterans welfare rights, free healthcare, school funding and even unplanned parenthood training... Not even 1% of those cuts however are going towards the richest members of your nation. So I advise you shut up, stop talking about what you don't understand, and at least TRY to see things from the other perspective instead of instantly calling us "shitheads"

  • @shadowmare97 Lennin worshipping shithead.

  • @bravo23delta There's only one L in Lenin genius.

Communists fund the people, yes... not the power hungry mongers that would cause war and strife. They work to give the middle and lower class families more while restricting the power to the rich. Funny enough, they STILL massed a Military that kept the USA scared for a good 40 years, defeated the Nazi Third Reich almost single handedly, and managed to establish a solid space program which sent the first man into orbit ever.

  • @bravo23delta I get the impression that no matter what I say however, you will maintain your trolling ways... so I'll step back and let you continue to worship Palin's high heels.

  • @shadowmare97 Communists never faught a war, nor killed anybody, huh?

  • sorry to know vietnam owned the USA.

  • @chiefboy Get your bullshit out of here troll

  • @chiefboy yep, proove that one, will ya? Come on, proove it... i'm waiting your proof.

  • can you send the lyrics please??

  • That part where the general executes the prisoner will haunt me for years. It is not the act, which is perhaps warranted as he is a criminal, but the way in which it is done that scares me. He walks upto him and summarily shoots him and puts the gun in its holster. How can killing be so easy? Where is the value of life?

  • @ithejuggernaut .There is a killer lurking in every one of us, its a tragedy but war brings out the worst in us, we are told we are right and "they" (the enemy) are wrong, and that, coupled with the deaths of friends in combat hardens us to our deeds, we kill out of anger, fear, battle madness, some do it cos they enjoy it,..whatever the reasoning we do it...and only afterwards do we pay with the nightmares and the horror of realising that we can kill with no compunction or pity..

  • dang thought that was double drives song lol!

  • ive just recently came back from afghanistan on a 5 month tour in the line of duty i think ive seen just about everything but vietnam was something different.

  • my grandpa was in korean war. he used to kick and hit my grandma in bed because he was dreaming about fighting a zipperhead.

  • Perhaps the most recognised picture from the war is this by Eddie Adams.

It shows the South Vietnamese General Nguyen Ngoc Loan executing a Viet Cong officer with a single shot to the head.

Photographs do not tell the whole truth, however. The prisoner had just killed at least eight people, which is what led Gen Loan to carry out the execution.

  • @esp359

The VC had killed some of the general's relatives, too.

    Doug

  • i still have nightmares and flashbacks of what ive gone through

  • im sorry to hear that mate.

  • @angrycaveman I hear you. Those memories are never going to leave us and probable never will. But also we've been throught something few folks can relate to. Hoo-ah.

  • @angrycaveman can you please explain what a thousand yard stare is?

  • @J41mEV4rG45 "Fixed on a point where others cannot see" I guess I can't explain it well for you mate, but it would be like "daydreaming" ... In this case in a very bad dream, the kind of stare that only war can brings.

  • @mmmbrunommm3 oh like your traumatized?

  • @J41mEV4rG45 Yes, like you're traumatized.Not my case though.Very beautiful poem ..

  • anti-war BS, the thousand yard stare was gainded by those fighting in foreign wars, its said he would keep fighting while American civilians wanted an immediate pull-out. God Bless the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and MARINES! because they do the fighgting whilst everyone else sits at home and is an armchair politician.

  • They needed someone to bring them home. They were dying and loosing. Nobody wants war.

  • Whats the song? It was on titanic too.
