JP thought he was going back to Hollyoaks for a surprise party (as he was told by Niall). Craig stayed in Dublin and when John Paul came back he was supposed to stay with Niall because no one knew he was coming back and Niall kidnapped him. Niall probably used JP's phone to send text messages to Craig like he did with everybody else.
