  • I have Phenom IIx4 975 with Radeon HD 6750.. how about this ...? IS it better ? with 4 GB ram

  • dayum ur computer is fast

  • You talk FAR FAR too much.

  • the thumbnail is missleading

  • My I just say that u are using and AMD CPU for video rendering.. Which is a big mistake cos they aren't designed to run it aswell as an intel, but u only have a quad core AMD so that nvidea card was always going to be faster considering how amazing those cards are lol

  • Converting with GPU will lag PC down as much as converting with CPU. GPU is just much more powerful and it's harder to overload it, but weaker GPUs (for example mine 8800 GTS) gets overloaded even in simple CUDA applications, causing even god damn mouse pointer to lag.

  • Why didn’t you just set the CUDA renderer to CBR but VBR with average and minimum bit rate to 14 Mb/s ? Setting the CUDA to VBR doesn’t make sense to me in terms of comparison.

  • CUDA rulezzzz ;)

  • Just asking how a Intel Core i7 3960x would render it...

  • @Germanyisthebest1 3960x Has 6 Cores, GTX 560 Has 336 Cores...

  • @evillllll1 No,there you understand something wrong...

  • Isn't 840 not a true Phenom II or can you unlock the cache it lacks?

  • 2:52, ANNOYING, must be an idiot, or little kid in the room.

  • worlds most annoying mouse click

  • Where in the world was this video made?

  • Thanks for the video, enjoyed it. But can i ask, when it is using cuda, can you still game as normal? would it affect anything? Does the cuda work with the cpu? Thanks

  • @TheJaycee88 CUDA uses the GPU and the CPU. It's GPU assisted, meaning it uses both to get the job done fasters, so you really won't want to be doing any gaming on it while it's rendering as it'll be using all the threads it can get to for the encoding process. You can carry on with other stuff though, just not things that will give the system a real work out otherwise it just reduces the stability and increased the chances of it failing the render, or crashing.

  • gpu encoding lacks of quality and detail nothing beats handbreak!!!!!!!!!!

  • @JakeVermont19 the best one, and its free!!

  • Me torrent? No! uTorrent!

  • did anyone else notice a onlive logo

  • Oh man wtf how did I get here. First a video about some dude saying he has doom3 running with raytracing now another trying to compare a cpu and gpu using two different software packages. I aint saying the CPU would be faster just saying the test in this case is stupid.

  • What camera do you use to record with?

  • thumbs up if you were searching through the video the thumbnail...

  • The guy who made this video is an idiot who has no clue on CPU vs GPU, please go back to flipping burgers, son.

  • How can i be so bored that i watched this till end?

  • And how the fuck this even ended in my recommended videos? How can even bing recommend something like this. How is it fucking possible that i have been awake for 36 hours?

  • How fucking boring and useless, can 10min video be? This is like the most retarted anal fuck i have ever seen. This is made for americans or something right?

  • RENDER UR BRAIN

  • You can't compare in two different NLE softwares. You need to do in either PR or Vegas. And Vegas doesn't support GPU render. Not a good comparison imo

  • too many words...

  • Why so many dislikes? He's sharing some of his knowledge on how shit works when rendering videos.

  • It does it because the chip GPU has ability to handle small tasks than a CPU could .

  • You sound like coldicepro...

  • @ZoneClanHD wow i was thinking that !! haha

  • @ZoneClanHD OOO it is him haha go on the battlefield 3 gameplay on the videos on the right it has his intro onit

  • 'Rendering' is not the right word, 'encoding' is more appropriate because that's what you do when you convert videos from one format to another mpeg4/.mp4 in this case.

  • Was that an algebra textbook by the laptop?

  • check my video comparison cpu vs cuda in my channel :)

  • this video waste your life ! skip to 9:20

  • 5 and a half minutes of the guy fiddling around in his file folders? No thanks.

  • CPU renderer can still allot more stuff than GPU renderers. GPU renderers are allot more limited in terms of shader effects etc...

  • @Capeau They won't be for long.

  • @muffins4tots

Actaully it will, the only reason why a gpu is so fast is because it is verry specialised (and thus limited) at certain things. A cpu can do anything you want.

  • @Capeau I don't know too much about the actual processors in GPU as compared to CPU's so i don't know for sure.

  • Gpu win for games and rendering.

  • i can't use GPU i Sony Vegas Pro 11

  • @TheGaming1000 CyberLink PowerDirector use the gpu for rendering and it is better and simpler than sony vegas pro.

  • i know a nrenderer that uses gpu and cpu at the same time

  • @badwolfshamma wat is it Plz Tell !!

  • @RazerrFTW indigo renderer for mac and pc free 30 day trail version and you can edit the textures realtime whilst rendering,

  • i was completely hooked. then when he said $80 i shut off the video.

  • @xZaaap a good editor program will not be cheap.. the programs used by major game makers are around $500 for the program and another few hundred depending on what the program comes with maybe a video and motion capturing AND audio will all be expensive

  • @killamilla45 Actually theres Pro grade free software out there..for example the last few Martin Scorsese films have been edited with Lightworks wich is free.

Even the 3D cgi space has excellent free software, such as Blender.

  • @postrock Calling Lightworks free is a bit of a stretch actually. They're actually just using the old bate and switch strategy. Yeah the program is free to download, but the moment you want to use many of the standard formats you have to pay, like Apple ProRes or the Red format etc. Meaning if you want to edit and render in anything other then than mpeg4 then you have to pay.

  • @xZaaap Are you insane? That is cheap for a video editing software!

  • i can't see the thumbnail portion anywhere in the video...in which two images r side by side

  • @faizanzd This guy is yet ANNOTHER ASSHOLE partner that can upload custom thumbnails and make their videos super misleading, custom thumbnails are the most retarded feature on youtube

  • @mclmatty

AND he's just building e-peen about his crappy GTX560.

  • jay! i got 2 i7's 4 core in parallel connection!

  • @goeiecool9999 and 2.8 GHz

  • uTorrent... nice!

  • You should see the difference in CPU and GPU rendering in 3ds max =) doing it right now. 150 frames on CPU took me 2 hours 2 minutes 59 seconds, 150 frames on GPU took me 1 minute 19 seconds.

  • @stoneyharrieXeve which renderer do you use to render scenes on the GPU with 3dsmax ??

  • an AMD chip is in no way = to any Nvidea card so to me this test is invalid

  • I don't like videos that start with a blank desktop and the uploader talks for moments before actual thing begins.

  • @TheodenN Then don't watch. It's as simple as that.

  • @TheodenN *watch

  • @TheodenN lol

  • @TheodenN then dont watch it

  • @TheodenN Who gives a shit? I don't....

  • @TheodenN youtube is full of those

  • wow. you should have fractions of video time when rendering with gpu. use badaboom if you have nvidia gpu, 2:30 video should take 20 seconds to render.

  • How do you drag your windows 7 desktop like that

  • did you know some program use cuda, and also the cpu, so if you have good graphics card and quadcore you can render very fast.

  • Go blow your nose allready ?

  • omg finally someone with my laptop!

  • Note that it's better buying a GTX 560+ if you are running an older CPU. IF you're using an in i7 with hyperthreading, then there is no need for GPU rendering as it would take longer

  • @chuninuzomaki Actually I have a 2600k and when i render with my gpu (cuda) it goes about 1 minute faster. Also if you have a older cpu, the gtx560ti will be bottlenecked. In more recent versions of sony vegas you can render with the gpu.

  • Very helpful. Thx

  • A good Xeon server processor runs faster than a 580GTX...

  • @HenryTomasino1 Dude that means you have never tried gpu rendering.

  • @AramAzhari Dude that means I have experience... Like my 470 can render faster than a good xeon >.>

  • @HenryTomasino1 oh ok then. I have a gtx285 and a gtx570 and I have an HP Xeon.

I use fryrender and my 570 is way faster than my cpu. and 580 is better than 570.

  • Sony Vegas 10.0e Supports GPU render in AVC format only for now

  • Your video is one of the best out there that demonstrate GPU rendering for ATI :)

  • Anyone know if ATI Stream is on par with CUDA?

    .

    .

  • @TheSupersurgical cuda is an NVidia technology and not available for ati or AMD-cards

  • @o0oHeavyAVFo0o Yeah, I know this Jackson. ATI did have something ATI STREAM or some such, it seems to still be on the ground. & only works with a few formats.

  • @TheSupersurgical Yes i searched the whole night about this ^^ i tried to find a video-rendering-programm that uses the graphics-card to render but this technology seems to bee down no plugin works :( the only thing i found is the amd-video converter for the catalyst that uses the GPU to comprimize the video files. works great =)

  • @o0oHeavyAVFo0o Programs do support ATI video card support, its usually "OpenGL" & still works better then cpu as far as video nle editing/rendering.

  • @o0oHeavyAVFo0o . ..how do you think the FX chips will be at this?

    .

    .

I think what video cards got going for them is the ultra fast DDR5 ram

    more then anything.

  • @TheSupersurgical in my opinion they should forgett the classic CPU´s ans use graphics für everything ;) dual GPU´s like the low-end card 3870x2 could do the same as a bulldozer with an singel 3870. one GPU for HD-video and gaming, the 2nd for the other stuff. i hope there will be a os that uses the gpu to 99% or sth. like this so that you need your CPU only for booting up that qould be nice =)

  • @o0oHeavyAVFo0o . ...they get so damn hot & have shorter life-spans then cpu's & costly!!!

  • @TheSupersurgical

    1. buy a good cooler ;) i got an accelero s1 on my 3870 and she never gets over 45°

    2. Than they must build "harder" and "heavier" cards ;)

    3. my 3870 costed 25€ (28$) and i can play crysis @ high ;)

    ps: OC FTW^^

  • @o0oHeavyAVFo0o 45.F would be nicer :) So I killed my ancient 2004ish AMD single core machine rendering HD video for like 20hrs non-stop. Going to go with a AMD Phenom II X4 970 & try to find a mobo that will work with the "PNY VCQ600-PB Quadro 600" Simply because it has CUDA & is only $170.00 Can you recommend any ATI card that will speed up my render times faster then this CUDA card & near the price? I use Sony Vegas Pro, Ulead, Cinelerra-CV.

  • So why didn't you use the same program to render the same file at the same settings... and then just go into settings and for each test turn on and off GPU rendering. Also, you need to do same test on Core2Duo, and on i7, not just Phenom

  • will it rendering in ATI

  • @navarretejason1986 now it will.

  • i hope the next vegas is going to be more gpu demanding

  • @xb4b1x as far as I know, premiere pro cs5 & vegas pro 10 supports CUDA
