Hi there, been looking for the last few weeks at videos for doing crochet braids for my daughters hair. We have bought water wave hair extensions recently and this has been one of the best ones. Thanks.
Hi Ms Jace! I love your hair and it look very natural on you! Question...at the end of your other crochet braid video you were getting ready to share how to cover the gray edges and your video ended. Maybe I missed it in another vid, but what were you going to suggest please?
@serette7 Hey Serette! Just click on the link at the end of the video to go to Part 2. There is a part two of the crochet braid tutorial that talks about that. It is called hair mascara; and I apply it in that video.
I love the crochet braids/weave. I first got it done right before Thanksgiving & used Freetress GoGo curl & received so many compliments. I now have the Freetress Water Wave & it's the bomb.com. This will be my protective style for a while, 6 months post relaxer.....YAAAAYYYY!!!!!
love the crochet braids, I put some in for the first time 3 weeks ago and they are due to be done again. I use an old colourant bottle with diluted shampoo or conditioner and put that on my scalp, massage it in then run warm water through to rinse and it washes just fine. I wash my hair every 7 days and it still looks fine, my rows are growing out so needs doing again, I love yours xxx
AHHH!!!!! I love ur hair so much!!!! I jus can't stop looking at this video. It just strengthens my resolve to do this to my hair next week. Who knows, it might be sooner, I'm jus that excited ^_^!
this is so gorgeous! i say your first video also. a question: did u do your braids a little different this time? maybe in the opposite direction. I think this direction is definitely more becoming on you. great job girl!
Im thinking about doing this style as a natural protective style but i have a question..when you say letting the water rinse through the synthetic hair..what do you mean?
@ourluvis1 After you put the no rinse shampoo on your scalp, then you jump in the shower and just put your head under the running shower water and let it rinse off the surface dirt. If the hair seems really dirty you can also lightly shampoo it with regular shampoo, also.
I DID IT!!! I got my crochet braids!!! I LOVE it!!! I got so many compliments on it!
What kind of product did you use to maintain the Freetress outside of washing your scalp with the no-water shampoo?? I used the lotion when it was being put in, but what about afterwards
Also, Thanks for the tip about cutting the hair so it doesnt rub your shoulder. That way i wont have to go through cutting on my own!
Ok so after seeing your tutorial I tired this style and just like you I am hooked on it.. Love how Natural and stress free it is!!! However I have two questions, one being so I know you use just like a body lotion on the hair when you are doing it, but have you tried the whole fabric softner thing and if so what was the result? I hate that it does start to look dry and nappy fairly quickly... Also what do you do with it at night ? Do you use a bonnet or scarf?
@All4Nevin Yep, I use a bonnet and keep the hair loose underneath. I have not tried the fabric softener!!! But, I can't wait to!!! Thanks for leaving the comment, darlin'!!
thank you I followed your advice, my hair is bushier then yours though, or atleast is seems really really big. lol I'm gonna post a picture later on my profile. but I followed your braid pattern and everything, I too kept it a little longer initially and it got a little matted at the end and I cut it today.
@zgirl461 So glad you tried it!! Yes, it will be super full when you first do it. Then, after you sleep on it for a few nights, it begins to settle down. What you see in this video is after a week of wear. I want to see a picture so badly!!!!
Questions: This is my #1 protective hair style, but I have never separated the hair. So, how long does the style last? Besides washing, what products do you use to maintain the style? And, next time can you show us your braiding pattern? Overall, great job!
@nicenapps Lasts 4-5 weeks. I use lotion every 3-4 days to soften the hair (regular body lotion). I did a more in-depth tutorial in my "Crochet Braid Tutorial, Pt. 1 & 2". I show my braiding pattern in video #1. Check them out!
@JaceBeauty I love crochet braids as well and have worn them for quite some time. I use fabric softner on my crochet braids to soften and add sheen. Give it a try you may like it. I spray/mist the hair down and latch hook it in, and once a week or so mist the synthetic hair with fabric softner diluted with water. One part fabric softner two parts water. By the way I LOVE the way yours lay, I will use your braid pattern the next time I do mine.
@biglegz2 Now that fabric softener idea is AWESOME! I never thought of using it- but it makes perfect sense! how bout that? I gotta try that next time!!! Thanks for the hook up!!!
I absolutely love this. I jus found your channel this morning, and this exactly what I was looking for without having to do a full wig..its just too frigging hot ..thanks
@sGracestill11601 oh check out Tresemme Fresh Start dry shampoos, they having been out long, but they get the job done and smell really like you just washed...just thought I would share that, since im here..lol
@2damnfunny That's very cool to hear sistah! I gotta check out the Presto Curl. How did you like that pattern? How long could you wear the Presto curl before it started matting?
@JaceBeauty I loved the curl pattern because it gave me a curly look without spending a lot of money on a weave or having to curl my hair everyday with a curling iron. It looks great for 2 weeks but gets ratty by week three. And sweating in this heat doesn't help. I haven't tried washing it but I will the next time around because I hate having my hair dirty for so long. I'm going to try that Water Wave on my cousin. This the most inexpensive hairstyle I've ever had. Cheaper then my half wigs.
Fabulous!!! I want mine done so bad

How were your cornrows braided to get that bang you have? Was it in a customized way or was it a standard braid-back?

jaceBeauty--
How did you trim your hair after you cut the original bunch of hair in half?? it seems as if you cut it at the crown, and left the sides longer.
also, what two colors did you buy? did you buy a 4/30 already mixed? or
or did you buy the colors individually? did you use lotion to touch up the hair every once in a while?
