Ok, I watched the rules video. It says that you have to read and agree to the official rules. You even had to send an e-mail to taxslayer saying you accepted the "official" rules. The official written rules on the taxslayer site state that videos must be submitted by April 15th. Legally, the "official rules" are THE rules so they trump the video.

Let's be honest here, they have two conflicting communications on there site, one is a video, which I think we can all agree is "official" based off the fact that we are all entering a video contest! So, why wouldn't that communication be legit. Secondly, who cares? It's there $25,000 that they have to spend, Why not have the best video win? It's a fair competition whether it was one week before or one week after.

Don't we all just want to show our best work and give them something they feel is really worth their 25Gs? Why split hairs? We all gave our best effort and put forth a video that we would like to see represent their company. So, let's let the best video win.

Look at the posting dates for the top rated entries. Most of them were posted just before April 15. That means people worked until the last second and uploaded videos that they probably would have liked to spend more time on. Someone who ignores the rules and posts a late entry has an unfair advantage because they didn't have to rush. Not everyone was able to put forth their best effort because they followed they rules and posted their video before the deadline.

That's one way to look at it. I didn't ignore the rules. I found out about this contest at the last minute and had 4 days to do what you see. So chances are most of these entries had way more time to do their commercials. I'm not new to these contests, I've seen people pitch a fit over all sorts of minor details. In the end, it's either a great film that wins or it gets beat by a better film. I didn't see your commercial in there blakez232,looks like you just joined Youtube 4 days ago? Who r u?
