its all about knowing when you can be in the area you are in and when you cant, captains nowdays will all know wind agaisnt tide is bad, i knew before i saw this doco that is the cause of rouge waves. i myself go fishing on my small boat now and then. i never go out if the wind is agaisnt the tide simply because waves are amplified and even in small seas waves can combine into breakers. wind with tide is fine :)
I really like the choice of music selection from the BBC documentary team. It's classy and powerful, perfect for scientific documentaries.
Science is already an interesting topic. You dont need cheesy, fast-beat songs like the Discovery channel likes to use in its attempt to make it more interesting. It's just plain tasteless.
You say that people can be saved by believing and praying to god, but what makes you think these people about to drown weren't praying or weren't devout christians etc.? I'm sorry, but I'm pretty sure even religious people aren't immortal.......Therefore you comments remain a little ambiguous. I don't think it's your place to judge. Or are you 'holier than thou'?
I am sailing international for 40 years now and I have seen such kind of waves: Grand Banks of New Foundland, Australian Bight, waters between Durban and Port Elizabeth off the 100 fathom line, Atlantic between Iceland and Ireland. In case windforce more than Beaufort 8 reduce drasticly engine power and make yourself a comfortable heading against the elements. Never under estimate the nature.
hey dudes. I've been seeking this documentation for weeks. cool to find it here, thx by the way. But you know, I'm from germany and my englsh is not the best, so I don't understand everything, but that shit is genious!
I remember, once there was the same vid. in german. But now I cannot find it. not on youtube, or other video platfoms. Even google doesn't find it! (need it for school!)
have you guys any ideas where I can get the german one from?
I won't go there guys. I prefer as we call it terra firma. Volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis - I live in Sweden, and having seen this, I'll stay there.
"They said it was unsinkable." uuuh suuure that's what they said about the titanic and look what happened to the tianic and they said the same thing about the cargo ship? bunch of b.s

only the press talked that BS about Titanic. Everybody else knew that the design was flawed.
