The gay couple with plushies was OK, it's just they shouldn't need to make their house overly-tacky with them, and lots of small ones makes you look insane (a few bigger plushies is fine too).
The lack of fursuits, fashion common sense (not tucking your shirt in if you're hella fat, wearing a blue tiger shirt with blue denim jeans, etc) and the.. sheer willingness to be interviewed if you know you look insane to others.
