Doing fast jerky reps like that is an easy way to hurt your calves. I was repping out 300 like that one time and felt a hard pop in the back of my calf. Couldn't walk for 3 days... My calf raise max went down from 900 to probably 500.
I did over a thou on those, in fact we ran out of weights and had to get two people to stand on the machine. I had big stretch marks and bruises on my shoulders for a week after, but who cares? I lifted four digits!
lol you people criticise way too much, yh maybe he is doin it wrong but be constructive "practise makes perfect" and "you learn by your mistakes", btw i max out the calf machines at gym and im only 16 ,off the machine i calfe raise 200 kg (dunno wat that is in pound) easily and do 5 sets until im feeling it , "no pain, no gain"
not that im trying to hate but ur form was really poor the proper way to perform that exercise is in a slow controled motion so you can isolate the muscle more for better results
i counted 14 45lb plates... which makes 630lb. also, u have 2 subtract some weight cuz u r using a lever machine. plz correct me if i'm wrong im not trying to flame anybody
