I know many people who have lost a ridiculous amount of weight and look amazing because of this program and they are the same as ever, other than being closer to God. I'm not a part of RF, but I do participate in Weigh Down. We have the videos, we do the program, the weight goes away, we have a better personal relationship with god, but we didn't join any group to do it.
I escaped a cult-like church with a female leader who is very similar to Gwen. Everything was wonderful at first--never felt such love and acceptance in my life. Over time, I started to see the truth and the controlling, abusive nature of the leader and the church. Other church members left for the same reasons.
If anyone thinks this church is harmless, go back and google the Josef Smith case. This is 8 y/o died as a result of Gwen's so-called "biblical" teaching on child discipline.

I think Weigh Down is awesome! I have more energy, more love, more happiness and more peace than at any other time in my life since being a kid. I think when confused about an issue, ask what motivations people have for saying what they say. In this video, one woman looked so sad behind the eyes. So much hatred. Why are you so angry? You must be a lost sole. Those who are children of God do not slander or gossip. The FACT is people are becoming better christians and better physically. She has given glory all to God, now if she were a cult or a fearles leader she would try to get people to praise er. But she's not. Light exposes sin. As to being better Christians, starving yourself to avoid hellfire is hardly Biblical .. and eating WHATEVER until you're full is hardly better physically either. I think Weigh Down is awesome! I have more energy, more love, more happiness and more peace than at any other time in my life since being a kid. I think when confused about an issue, ask what motivations people have for saying what they say. In this video, one woman looked so sad behind the eyes. I'm not saying she isn't a lovely woman, but I know that "look" where the sheer weight of your body is literally dragging your soul down! She has that look. Being obese gets you nowhere in life.

God is concerned about every area of our life, including our eating habits. The Bible says God knows the very number of hairs on our head...so of course God is interested in things like our health and general wellbeing. All these attacks on a christian woman show you to be godless and one day you will be judged.

This was an exaggeration by the Pharisees but Jesus himself said He came eating and drinking, and so I get the impression He didn't eat like a sparrow. NOWHERE in the Bible is thinness or weight loss a condition for getting to heaven. It's possible to have a skinny body and a fat ego at the same time.

The principles of the book seem fine. But be careful following a "Spiritual Leader" who denies the Trinity and starts her own church with followers who failed on this diet, to give them more attention and support. May your pounds fall away, without you falling away from the gospel. Don't be a part of Shamblin's remnant... She says focus on God, but who is her god?

If Gwen loves "the fat" so much, why do so many of them get kicked out of the church or verbally pistol whipped when they don't meet their "target weight" and don't lose those "pounds of disobedience, sin, pride, etc." How about being honest enough to admit, Tamela, that this is EXACTLY what is going on RF and quit denying reality?

What amazes me more than anything is that they bring two people on this show and completely slander Gwen Shamblin and the Weigh Down Workshop, not even giving her a chance to defend herself.
Also, Jesus loves fat people just like anyone else, and I don't feel that Gwen would deny that. She is constantly stating that overweight people are unhappy and trying to feel a void. And that God will help them because He loves them.

Please. The crocodile tears for Gwen as a victim convince no one outside her mind control. Gwen had her chance to defend herself in court when she and several dozen of her sycophants sued our ministry for 3 M $ for "slander." She then backed out of it like the coward she is when she found out that we were ready to go full court press with her to prove that EVERYTHING Laura and Teri said was TRUE. Don't expect my tearducts to dry out weeping for Shamblin's wounded pride.

Please Enter "Gwen Shamblin Cult"or "Remnant Fellwoship Cult" on Google and read the websites that come up. While Shamblin has had plenty of opportunity to 'defend' her false teaching, she can't make a 'good defense'..false is false. A Christian needs to wake up if they are involved with WDW...for Shamblin denies that Jesus Christ is God..and denies that there is a Trinity . It's been a long time since 2000 when Shamblin dropped her wooly suit to reveal the 'wolf' she really is.

Watch the WDW video testimonies and see how they all sound exactly alike -while each person's individual experience varies, they were all exposed to mind control techniques using Gwen Shamblin's worldview to reprogram them into thinking that to be fat means to be sinful, that they alone have the truth, and that because they wear a size 3 they are "pure." Ask them why they have to diss ex-members, why they hate other churches, why they don't feed the poor.

The Weigh Down Program and the Remnant Fellowship Church are filled with loving, caring, gentle souls who seek nothing more than to do the will of God. It is against God's will to abuse your body, which is God's temple, with excessive food. By remaining overweight, you are wearing your sin, your greed for food, all over your body. God wants us to love him above all other things, including food. I lost 122 pounds through this message, and have kept if off for 2 years! Praise God!

I've been on ths b4 (2 to 3 yrs ago. It really works, understanding why u eat. I experienced lots of freedom to eat ANYTHING. I'm going to start it again. Also, a word of caution. While this is a excellent approach to managing your body, your emotions, & relationship w/Jesus. It is confusing b/c Gwen never talks about Jesus, only God meaning she doesn't teach Jesus is God. Google her & judge 4 yourself. Her teachings r faith shaking, if u r nt cautious. beware &decline invites 2 visit da church

The principles I learned from this program have changed my life for the better. My whole family has exceeded all my expectations for happiness and godliness. Not to mention I lost 80 pounds, my husband lost 25, my kids are so sweet. My only regret is that I didn't know about Weigh Down and Remnant during it's earliest days.

So why is David Shamblin so grossly obese? Why does Gwen Shamblin cohabit with him in marriage? Isn't that engaging in spiritual whoredom? Personally, I don't believe that, but Gwen's teaching - if true - leads to this logical conclusion. Why isn't he leading the church? Where is he on Saturday nights? Where did Gwen Shamblin get the authority to run a church? Where did she get her training? Are you going to tell me her calling came from being a dietician with an obsession with body image?

On their "remnant fellowship international" website they state their marriages are strong, yet Gwen Shamblin has ONLY one photo of herself with her husband on that page. (maybe its because he's heavy? I sure hope she isn't mean to him!!!!)

It's clear you aren't in touch with the reality. This twisted cult tried suing our ministry for slander. They withdrew their suit because they knew they were going to lose. Why? Because the judge saw nothing slanderous in our declaration of our observations, the cult's lawyer slunk into the court and withdrew the suit.
You might want to get your own ducks in a row: we'll be only too glad to accept your apology.
