As a person that's had a beloved parrot fly out a window and be lost forever, this is very scary. Keep them clipped, and keep them clipped closely. They only get hurt or dead otherwise.
@ballsthatclank If you have a strong bond with your birds, you do not need to clip there wings. If you clip there wings, it is horrible in my opinion, stops them flying, what they naturally do, also, it takes away there amazing beauty of the wings.
wait can i take my parakeet outside or my finches and where can i train my pet and i have it for maybe 5 months and i cant train it in my house and if i could train it at a bird training store how much do you think i pay
Instead of discouraging people from trying this, you should teach them the right way to do it. Most people don't like being told they can't do something, so they'll go ahead and do it just to prove they can.
I'm volunteering at a bird rescue here in Dayton and I love your birds! (The girl is pretty cute too lol) I want to do the same training with my macaws. I have 2 blue and gold's (Actually 3 right now but one of them we are fostering) Their wings are clipped now but I want to let them grow back out and start doing INDOOR flight training to start with. Any suggestions? I really want to see my babies do what nature intended them to... Open their beautiful wings and fly! :-)
So funny. I saw the "baby" video, the "quality time" video and this, and that bluethroat is always sort of dignified and aloof! XD Like "I don't know them, they're not my species at all" XDDDD
Waw!!! Amasing!!..👍😃❕😳👽👍👍👍👀

izmail1215 1 year ago
@izmail1215 Noooo, clipped birds can still fly just worse since being clipped is its handicap.

You should really consult with a professional before attempting to freeflight train your bird outside. My first outside bird was a Congo :)
