I'm a guy that just picked a random video on youtube...but this looks amazing. You look better than Beyonce, or any other girl I've seen yet. WHY ARE YOU NOT MARRIED TO ME?
Great tutorial; you look stunning. However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of your heritage however it is hard to learn from you with your continued "big upping" Nigerians. I, myself, am an African American woman who knows a lot about African culture including how to wrap a Gele. Together we stand, divided we fall. African or African American, we are all different and the same, however I know Nigerian girls who could care less about their heritage.
@alldolledupbymiaford - Americans are always paying tribute to their country/heritage so I see nothing wrong with Nigerians big-upping Nigeria !!! Nigerians who don't care about their culture are like Black Americans who don;t care about AA culture ( brainwashed !! Europeans who took over their culture and marginalized them)
@natural6591 :) Maybe you should read my comment again and watch your video again. "I know I have some Nigerian and African divas watching me", is what you said and I was watching your vid.with a Caucasian friend who was a little offended and didn't feel accepted by you. (we were attending a banquet in which attire from the Motherland was expected). Just giving you something to think about, no disrespect or hate intended. Keep doing your thing. Much love.
I need your help pls with make up, i totally suck at it and ner bother to pratice so pls if you could tell me what make-up products to buy. Keep up the great work you make us all proud, and you're very beautiful :)
i am african american love the way you styled your gele. i wear head scarfs/head wraps for me i use big scarfs and wrap them around my hair in different ways and each way i style the scarves can be simple or very complex. you say in your culture its the bigger the betta for me its the more inticate i make my head wrap then the more it will complement my natural beauty.
Beautiful............Im not Nigerian but have Niagerian friends, I love the culture, food, music (love P-Square) , and clothes......keep making great videos!!!
Love your Gele. Pretty. Do you watch african movies? I love the african movies? I love the african movies. The best movies! Beyonce series is one of my favs.
@Ella11238 lol i was just about to ask her. She reminds me of Genevieve Nnajii. Butchu should def check out movies with Ini Edo, Tonto Dike, or Kofi Adjololo..lol
Awesome video, I have been learning how to tie the gele and u have just helped. The stiff ones are so hard to tie, I have learned to iron first then tie to loosen the starch. Ur make up is gorgeous. Whoop whoop! u go gorl. Lucky husband. Yeeey!! FOR NIGERIA.
This look was perfect! I will be attending a Nigerian wedding next spring and I was looking all over youtube for something traditional and classy. Awesome videos sis and oh my word your arms are even better than Michelle Obama's arms lol. What's your secret?!? Where can I find the dresses and head wrap? Thanks in advance SBD4L :-)
Love this Gele;)...am a yoruba gurl aswell...but am nt bothered about d Gele's when goin 2 Nigerian parties.but i must say u inspire me to tie 1..****tru dis tut!......u go gurl...........!!!!!!!!!
This is lovely and thanks enjoyed and I'm going to try this look, I'm going to a friends wedding and wanted ideas on make up and tieing gele, thank you I will be looking forward to seeing more stuff and I will put a pic up so you can tell me how I did, God bless you.
Wow girl, you are brave doing a gele tutorial on You tube but i must say, You did a very, VERY good job. You rocked it. I don't think i am that good. Alright, way to represent.
Loves it! I like how in tuned you are to your culture. That's a blessing to know where you come from. When you are born and raised in the U.S.with a long history of americans we are lost with no idea or identity.
Phenominal Gele!! I am not Nigerian but am african american & love true african culture Style. Thax for the vid it was very helpful on how to do a Gele. Is that the only way to put one up or are there other methods?
I'm from southern Africa, & I so wish we had head gears like the West Africans especially Nigeria. I LOVE going to church and African weddings coz it's SOOOO colourful and BOLD & BIG!!! xo
You go girl it takes a confident woman with a lot of heart to do a BC because it is such a huge step BUT you look beautiful and now you are on your way to gorgeous natural curls! :)
PERFECT TIMING!! i was literally just thinking about this before i signed into youtube today..thank goodness im subcribed to u and the video just came to me!! my mom will be impressed when i tie hers and my own gele for the next party!! =) thanks
Love the look! I am an American born African and since I can remember (9yrs old) I have always embrace the African in me. My African mother, who is Liberian gave me my first fabric for my Gele. My husband who is Gambian, when he went back home this past winter he brought me back some outfits that my sister-in-law made for me...one came with a head dress piece! I was super excited about it! I love the look and yes honey, I love the huge Gele's! Very rich & elegant! Thanks for sharing.
I am not Nigerian BUT I do have Nigerian ancestry on my father's side of the family and If this is how the Nigerians rock it then count me in!!! My 2 sisters and I have always worn gele just to represent our universal African cultural heritage so I am just gonna be addin' your beautiful Nigerian spin to our mix
Hey missy. Is your husband Nigerian as well? I am dating a Nigerian. Actually, I have been with him for about 3 years now. Very happy together. I ask that question because it is known that some cultures dont like their children mising with other cultures...so I am asking.
