I've noticed he always pauses for the last "wrong" which is very hard to issue. Years later, past his prime, he paused longer. But I can't blame him -- it is a very difficult part of the song to sing. I truly think he is the best singer I have heard ever if vocal range, lung capacity and ease of performance is the measure.

Plus, a woman's vocal cord, especially alto/sopranos are higher than a man's tenor/alto. The timbre is usually different. Especially, transitions between notes in a scale for example. An adult male vocal cords does not transition as smooth as woman's vocal cords because women have more head voice (not falsetto) than a man! Not that you'll understand. Just letting you know.
