It reminds me of Vietnam and other conflicts as well. The financial backers control the conflict and order the military to do whatever sells more weapons and prolongs the conflict. The soldiers were ordered not to fight at times and given orders that contradicted what military commanders wanted.

It's a shame, but I am confused. I thought you are against the use of chlorine in water? As a rule, I HATE Halliburten. I'm not sure which is worse, their typical use of horrible chemicals, or here with their not using what maybe is necessary.

Right - that's why I drink natural spring water that doesn't need to be treated. However the water these vets are using is infested with dangerous parasites, some large enough to see. They are in real danger because of this.

Under such circumstances, I would say it's imperative to chlorinate, but the water needs to sit for 30 minutes after pouring to allow the chlorine to evaporate before drinking.

They would absorb the chlorine in the shower, but it's better than what they're getting now.

That makes sense. Most people where I live use chlorine in their wells. I wont drink tap water but if chlorine does evaporate, maybe it isn't quite as bad for them as I imagined. I am also hesitant to use tap water for making tea, do you know if boiling really makes the water ok to use? Thanx.

Find out if you live in a municipality that adds fluoride to the water. If so, then your water also has lead, cadmium and arsenic. Boiling it makes the fluoride much more volatile.

Tap water is never truly healthy, and boiling it does not remove the chlorine, but if you let it sit uncovered for 30 minutes before boiling it for tea, the chlorine should evaporate.

I use spring water even when I heat water, which I know people consider expensive, but bone cancer from fluoride costs a lot more.

I know. When I lived in the US I used to lug home Mountain Valley Spring from Whole Foods - it comes in large glass bottles. The bottler is very conscientious and even their plastic bottles are the safest made. Both the glass and plastic bottles are dark to preserve the minerals, and the pH is high.

You know it's safe when you see politicians drinking it, which you might notice if you pay attention to the bottles sitting in front of them. Hypocrites.
