As a Socialist and an educator I absolutely love this movie. This was a pretty good retelling of Trotsky's life in a what-if fashion - the move from Menshevik to Bolshevik for example. It also destroys the current status quo of the corrupt education system we live in while showing how it can be improved. Being that old Socialist that I am I am saddened that it is hard to rally popular support for something that seems so obvious like extensive education reform. All power to the Soviet!

No, it had everything to do with a centralized collectivized power killing off its competitors. Much like the marxist capitalism the US and the west has today. The markets are not fair or competitive. They are completely government run, the oligarchs run the government. If government had no power to intervene in the US economy and certain institutions like the FDA, FED and other inefficient costly institutions were downsized. The oligarchs would fail without government support.

Then allow people to have their private property & manage this property so that no one in society acquires too much of it. @TheMedievalMan if u look close into USSR history you will see that in the begining, before the degeneration of the state, it was trully controlled by the the workers... the workers dictatorship began in each factory and ended at COUNSIL(SOVIETS), where the deputies were chosen by the workers in each factory by factory comission and they could revoke the deputies mandate at any time... that was way more democratic than de burgeoise democracy, wich ppl by the universal sufrage elect their hangman
