I agree. Dan always has good, solid musicians in whatever he puts together. And such a great "club band". They always manage to have some fun and really connect with an audience.
Years ago, a friend of mine loaned me a Dan Hicks & the Hot Licks album. He said, "You gotta listen to this." I put it on the stereo and immediately thought..."what the hell is this crap?" By the time I made it through "Payday Blues" and "Waitress In A Donut Shop", I was an avid fan. The years haven't changed my mind. More Dan Hicks videos, please!

They used to play his shows on very late night FM when FM was cool. 2 or 3am when I was cruisin' or sittin' in the driveway. "The Days My Friend"

I first saw him in concert in 1970. Have been a serious fan ever since. His show was art, comedy, theater and of course music.
