just had my second lesson Marty at age 49,but my fingers always hit 2 strings at a time.Teacher tells me fingers will go very hard at the end.How long does this take as i already have due to 30 yrs in engineering.

I find it hard to practice knowing you can`t hear the right cord because of this.I welcome any advice on this.

@ckbarton1 he just showing ounce you learn some cords.you just need to pick up a finger here and their and you sound like you know what your doing .believe me it works to make you sound like your better than you are.just play around with it and dont give up.

@Becki05 have you tried pressing harder on the strings...sometimes adding a little pressure helps.

@Becki05 I'm a total beginner, so I might not be the best source of advice, but I was told to make sure your fingers are as far down on the fret as they can be, if you see what I'm saying. Within the fret, you can move your fingers up and down the neck, still being on the right fret. They should be closer to the body of the guitar right up against the metal fret divider. And like someone else said, press down with firm pressure.

@Becki05 take into account what others have said, but it might just be a crappy guitar. i have a crappy guitar and no matter what some frets do that. a nice guitar will be more fun to play and will help advance your skills much faster. i know i'm going to go get a decent guitar soon to help me learn on a well crafted instrument :D
