If the quality was raised to very high then the 8800gts would be crushed, its a sad fact i learned but now i have my 9800gx2 which can handle it a little better, quad sli soon tho.

Gamespot tried it with full power en the newest and best graphic card and processor still didnt work :S at best resolution

I run crysis on dx10, on all VERY HIGH settings, at 1024x768 resolution and 0AA and I get a constant 30+fps

The problem everyone is having, is they are trying to run it at higher resolutions with AA, you just cant on high or very high, not nowadays at least. Maybe in a year.

I have a 6600 core 2 quad cpu, 8800GTS 640mb card, 6gb of ram.

Yea, i can get 2 more for a total of 8gb of ram with my system, but I really dont need it. Just in case for the future though.

64bit OS and the right motherboard = max of 8gb of ram.

i just finshed the game on windows xp. xp is better to play crysis as crysis uses about 1.6 gig of ram if you want to play on high and vista it will work just slower frame rates then xp so yeah your system will work send me a messeage if you want more info

to play on high settings and still get a good FPS you need to play on 1024x768 res, you might just be able to put AA on 2x
