  • Wow mate thanks a lot! Your website is great, i finally found out how to make the game work for 4 players!!!

  • @kungensick You're welcome :) Glad to hear my site helped you out.

  • I own the arcade games of both D&D

  • Come on Capcom. Release a Dungeons and Dragons Arcade Compilation on 360/PS3!

  • It disheartens me that almost no one today remembers this game and normally associate streets of rage 2 as the king of beat em ups...please. I can name 4 or 5 beat em ups that stand out about sor2. Those people just havent played the entire genre including the ALL the arcade beat em ups which never seem to surface in the discussion.

  • mage is like the best character

  • I like the music that comes up when you fight the Shadow Elf Tel'Arin, and when he shows up with his brother later on...it brings up the feeling of an epic battle...^_^;;

  • Dungeon Fighters is an amazing tribute to this. It expands on it and fully improves on it.

  • Sweet! The D&D games have to be the BEST beat 'em ups ever made! Just look at the amount of detail in this game! Awesome! I wonder why Capcom can't re-release this? Couldn't they just take all the references to D&D out of the game? Or is it that there are specific licensed characters in the game? I guess that would make it harder....The beat 'em ups of this current gen or last gen of games will NEVER top this!

  • Yes i agree it is the best, but the reason they cant re-release it is because after tsr went bankrupt the shadow over mystara franchise went with it so to bring back shadow over mystara would be such a legal mess for capcom that according to what ive heard them saying on there forums at capcoms website, it just isnt worth it and not in there plans to do so. The way i see it though is eventually capcom is going to have to deal with there licensed beat em ups beause they were the hottest titles.

  • Well, I think it could be a GREAT game for them to try to aquire!! I know that it would be hard, but imagine the salivating masses there would be upon hearing this game was coming to consoles or available for download!! Heck, I know Capcom Fighting Evolution wasn't a HUGE success, but it sold out in MANY game stores where I live due to the fact Red Earth characters were in it!! I just recently got the emulator to play this and I am HOOKED!! Thanks for your reply, buddy!! :)

  • Licensing rights junk is just a cheap shot. Now I'll never be able to play this game. :(

  • You can download it from the website in this video's description and play it on your computer.

  • Yeah, but people will complain that it's EMULATION and it's ILLEGAL.

  • Getting involved in emulation of out-of-production games won't get you in trouble. It's as illegal as jaywalking or copying an audio CD for someone. Everybody does it, but law enforcement has better things to do than to crack down on it.

  • can you believe this came out in 1996? it blows away games that are released today! if you like this game you should check out a game called Oriental Legend 2 its like an advanced version of this game but with a TON load of stuff it will take you months to complete and unlock the extras

  • I can't think of any other arcade beat-em-up like Capcom's D&D series. This game had so much depth for its time. Great art direction too.

  • no it wont be likely ever

  • the best beat em up

anybody know this game relased in xbox marketplace ??

  • i know i can play it on ggpo but its the principle of the thing. Think of it this way imagine streets of rage or an epic beat em up was never seen on a console wouldnt you be suprised? This game is basically unknown outside of arcade enthusiasts.

  • Bar-none the best arcade beat'em up game ever made.

  • yeah it is one of the very best beat em ups and sadly because of license issues this game will never appear on capcom classics collection or be released in the future. really stupid this game has fallen into obscurity and is also arguably the greatest arcade beat em up of all time. Sure it got a Dreamcast port, but only in Japan. C Capcom has 5 or so gams that have licence issues, wont be released again, but unfortunatly they are probably the best beat em ups that capcom has ever produced.

  • Get a friend and play this on GGPO. Problem solved. ;)

  • I beat this :F

  • any way to play it online?

  • GGPO Emulator

  • This game is awesome.

  • Damn why didnt Capcom ever express any more interest in this series? I think around this time the 3-D games were starting to take over. This game was on the CPS2 i believe. The CPS-3 was short lived and only have a handful of games. I wish they would of made a dungeons and dragons 3 for the CPS-3.

  • I also doubt on the chances of the 2 Dungeons and Dragons games being remade by CAPCOM because the Japanese do not develop videogames based on American franchises anymore (for example: American cartoon videogames)

  • I hope they do again. I seriously hope they do.

  • They better. I'm tired of the Japanese liking anime and manga more than American movie, toy and cartoon, and book licenses!

  • Awesome game.

    Good vid

  • This game was awesome. Its highly doubtful we will see this game ressurected or re-made.

  • They need to release this on Xbox Live Arcade ASAP.

  • I remember playing this game in the arcade and I spent quit abet of money playing it. Back then when A arcade game was still a quarter

  • this looks good, were those Drow at 00:21

  • ty for the link man

  • you play good but.. im are better

  • This game is Pretty ez i can almost beat it with one coin but yet i cant i only need 2 but my brother he can i use the ELF or the healing guy
  • gee i spend so much money when i was a kid in that arcade and now i can play it for free?

  • Yes you can download it and play it on your computer for free. I have it in my website. The web address to it is in this video's description.

  • I have some good memories of playing this arcade game as a little kid, both alone and with friends!

  • i beat this game on 1 credit woth the cleric yes the mage is good but you gotta know what the hell your doind and not just throw spells wilinily

  • Wow! That's impressive.

  • WOW Can you imagine if this game is released on NDS. Man it would be great

  • Yeah! That would be so awesome.

  • Good, but needed Final Strike.

  • Send me a Kawaks save state of it happening. ^_^

  • good preveiw, good job, indeed a great game, loved both of the games myself, but whatever

  • Thank you. :) Yes, both games are excellent. I love them very much.

  • me too, i wish they would be re-released i miss the good ole beat em ups weapon based or otherwise

  • You could always play your favorite beta em ups on your computer via Mame or Kawaks. FUN FACT: In Japan these two games were released as a bundled game for the Sega Saturn.

  • i have mame, and yes i know the games were ported to the saturn and well, trust me, i have kept track of this game, i think it sucked how capcom would bring the collection to the states, they really suck for that

  • Ah cool, so you have it already. Yes, it sucks so much how Capcom is screwing us from the collection. They should release it to PSP/DS or something.

  • it's not going to happen cause the liscense is dead, maybe capcom (or someone) will try to get a liscene from wizards of the coast, one day to do another beat em up

  • Aw crud! That really sucks. At least we have emulation.

  • yea' i agree that sucks, but there is emulation, yup, too bad there won't be another beat em up like this

  • It's not that the license is dead itself (it crearly isn't). More like Capcom doesn't have the rights to it anymore. They have the same problem with other licensed beatem ups they did such as Cadillac and Dinosaurs, The Punisher and Alien vs Predator.

  • hows the liscense clearly not dead? whats the difference between the liscense being dead, and not having rights to the game anymore?

  • Just because of Capcom not having rights to the license anymore, doesn't mean it's dead and other companies can't have rights to it for releasing new D&D videogames. The last one having video game rights to the license it was Atari a few years ago.

  • i would rather capcom get rights back for a game, and would like to see where it goes with the new ppl there, but oh well... wouldn't really make any difference, the greatness of this game can't be topped...

  • That's exactly what I think also. As a matter of proof, I have both Capcom's Dungeons & Dragons games for the Sega Saturn. They are sweet.

  • i would live to see this on the ipod touch, or a game very simillair, but no,nothing can touch this game, it is perfection, in pixel form... i would love to have the arcade boards of this game, been looking around for them from ebay... may not get it, but oh well...

  • that dark wizard guy was my favorite

  • He's my favorite as well. :)
