  • She has always been her won person, and she has a husband who is big enough to not be intimidated by it. I miss having a real married couple in the White House.

  • I think the reason she is saying what she has said is because like many people in the public eye they want to be liked by the liberal press. It's easy to go with the flow, but it's a lot tougher to keep to conservative principle values when you are up against the big monster liberal press.

  • shame!

  • @BeantownJim for what - thinking for herself?

  • Larry King: "How about choice?"

    Me: "Well, naturally I'm pro-choice on health insurance, gun ownership, school choice, private property, lightbulbs, food, child discipline, home-schooling--"

    LK (nervously): "Uh-h, I actually meant abortion."

    Me: "You should have said so! Naturally I'm anti-abortion, because abortion is homicide. Now if the word "choice" alone justifies abortion then why aren't you also pro-choice on the issues I just mentioned?"

    LK: "Great point. Thx for saving me from stupid."

  • I'm blown away right this moment. First of all, I don't know how I got to this video, but I'm kind of glad I did. My whole perception about her has changed. She doesn't seem to me like that submissive first lady who only waves and smiles. Instead she's a woman who actually thinks for herself. But her choice in men, that's a different thing.

  • YES for love (gay marriage)

    NO for hate (abortion)

    Please rethink your hate stance, Mrs. Bush. But I do appreciate you standing up for love, also.

  • This makes me hate her a lot less

  • A shame she didn't have more influence on her husband when he was President.

  • Shes such a milf ..bush is a lucky guy

  • @tomas6262 You need to get yourself some glasses my dude...

  • Why can't/coundn't she run for the 2012 elections?

  • Well she's certainly a lot smarter and more articulate than her husband.

  • i don't seem to understand ! first their husbands don't do anything about gay right and instead talk crap and now their Wife's are all nice to us? sounds fishy to me besides once a bush always a bush i'd rather have Hilary

  • Gay marriage shouldn't even be a fucking issue, who cares? It doesn't effect your quality of life in any way. We might as well still have slavery if this is the way people are still thinking of each other. Idiots.

  • @MsMailbawx When I was a teenager I really thought the world had socially evolved but I am seeing that it has not. We are all rational adults why is this so hard to sort out? Why? Lol!

  • Wow. This is an eye opener. Knew almost nothing about her before this and am very shocked she holds these views.

  • Why didn't she say anything while her husband was in office? Personally I think this is too late.

  • Why couldn't she be president instead of her husband?

  • What a REAL lady....

  • Laura Bush would have made a great president, she is well thought, pragmatic, and intellectual (she was a librarian)

  • As for other conditions that may affect the health of the mother, only 0.2% of abortions are cited as for the purpose of protecting a mother’s life. Take note that this statistic is derived from the opinion of the mother not of a doctor.

  • You know, Pro-Life people do not wish to end abortion in cases that threaten the mother’s life.

    Ectopic pregnancy is the condition that fills up the statistics in this area. We understand that the baby cannot live and will harm the mother if this is not dealt with medically. We care about the mother just as we do the baby.

  • Why the fuck didn't SHE run for President, instead of her retarded baboon of a husband?

  • Westboro church days are numbered. One day they are going to protest the wrong funeral and be assassinated. And whoever assassinates them will be my hero and I will gladly donate all my money to their legal fund!!

    PROPS to LAURA BUSH taking a stand against discrimination. Her husband is a spineless murderer and I cant understand why a smart woman like her is still with that raging MORON!!

  • @killdaclownz I don't think we should hope for anyone to be assassinated or killed in any other way. I think we should all just respect each other and each other's rights regardless of how different we may be. I am gay and I wish no harm to the Westboro Baptist Church. I wish them understanding and happiness because I think they are ignorant and disturbed people.

  • A BUSH BEING SLIGHTLY LIBERTARIAN?!

  • @gardenofarcane

    Well look at that we got a Westboro Baptist member here...

  • LOVE her!!! Wonderfully surprised! :)

  • Hey, you go girl!!

  • The warmongers wife. Whats it feel like to get porked by a fake Christan with blood all over his hands Laura?

  • @SunnyLovetts Your really going to judge someone by who they love? She cant help the way she feels for him...

  • I agree with most of the comments below. I always liked her and never understood how she ended up married to such a slimeball.

  • She seems like such an intelligent person. I can't believe she married such an idiot!

  • I knew she wasn't anti gay

  • @MusicJew158 Yeahhhh. The entire Bush family has always said that they don't agree on everything and they've all been pretty vocal about that aspect of their lives which I really like about them. I love Laura

  • I knew I liked her. I can only question her taste in men.

  • His wife coming out for gay marriage, and so are his daughters, It goes to show Bush used the religious right for votes, he doesnt give a shit about gay marriage either,

  • bullshit

  • she seems so cool...too bad her husbands such a douche

  • GOD CAN SEE YOU SHINING

    Shadows fall on holy ground. Earthbound angels walk around,

    wearing out your dusty clothes. Wandering angels, Heaven knows

    that God can find you, Heaven hears you, God can see you shining.

    Every baby's holy birth lands a little angel here on Earth,

    sheltered from the dark of day. Mother sings your fears away.

    She sings God can find you, Heaven hears you, God can see you shining.

  • Sometimes angels lose their way following the darkness of the day.

    Cry the dust out of your eyes. You'll see we're all angels in disguise,

    and God can find you, Heaven hears you, God can see you shining.

    Baby angel, when you're born, mother keeps you safe and warm.

    Reach your wings into the sky. Someday you will learn to fly,

    when you see God can find you, Heaven hears you, God can see you shining.

  • She should have been president not her stupid, blood thirsty, lame, ignorant, self righteous husband.

  • See the video that shows what happens after we die...it's called "GOD'S PRISON"

  • An amoeba is considered "life". It has ONE cell! But it's scientifically categorized as "LIVING". Why would any human being on earth knowingly go against what SCIENCE says about what categorizes something as living?! You may say, well, it can't live outside the womb, so it's technically "mine". Wrong. A human baby cannot survive outside of it's environment just as a tadpole cannot survive out of the water b4 becoming a frog. IT'S STILL LIVING THOUGH! I've yet to hear a proper defense to that.

  • @hcmontessori says: IT'S STILL LIVING THOUGH! I've yet to hear a proper defense to that.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alive or not dosent matter in abortion rulings. Defense done!
  • @Sueezee1 you must have a lot of buttsex
  • Too bad she married that turd
  • @5manen Well, you know the old saying, birds of a feather...
  • Talk about being on the right side of history. George on the other hand...
  • ive always liked her. she was just a beaten down stepford wife who had NO way out regarding sharing what she REALLY thought pre 2008-09! Nonetheless I think shes an classy wordly open minded great woman
  • uh-oh, a republican i like??????
  • Laura is just saying that because she wants to sell a stupid book
  • What do ya know...the devil wears a dress. Abortion=murder
  • @MrBuster128 says: Abortion=murder
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Still LYING and getting nowhere, I see...

  • @Sueezee1 I tell the truth and you call me a liar...I hope you find God before it is too late.

  • @MrBuster128 Read Exodus. God doesn't see fetuses as equal to humans. The emphasis is on more mischief following after the micarriage. You tell no truth. God is smarter than you. May you find logic and reason before it's too late. Abortion anti-overpopulation and Antinatalism for life.

  • @vgman94 Read Jeremiah 1:5 BEFORE I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and BEFORE thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. (what GOD said to Jeremiah) Also Isaiah 49:1 Deuteronomy 32:18 Luke 1:41

    Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that SEEMETH right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

    Exodus 20:13 THOU SHALT NOT KILL.

  • @MrBuster128 Why do you capitalize before? That verb only means that God knew Jeremiah more intimately than Jeremiah would think. Also, see Numbers 5: 11-31. If a married woman is an infidel, her "belly will swell and her thigh will rot", but if she is pure she shall conceive a seed. This means God would abort the fetus inside her. Also, read Hosea 9:16 and 9:14 As for Exodus, it's Exodus 21:22-23. Learn something. Fetuses are not worthy of rights. They don't need rights. Living beings do.

  • @vgman94 You honestly don't know? You're dumber than I than I thought. Well, I would say your taking it out of context, but you haven't even made it to that level. A FETUS is a stage of life. Your comments are as sill as saying toddlers are not worthy of rights or the elderly are not worthy of rights. Take a biology class at your local college and learn something.

  • @MrBuster128 A fetus is a stage of life? NO DUHHH. Jesus Christ. The Elderly have minds and all that a normal human being or any animal for that matter possesses. Toddlers feel pain and have emotions. They are both very different from a mindless fetus. Grow up. "Take a biology class at your local college and learn something." Same could and should be said to you. At least I stand for facts, not sentimentalist, "itz killing a baby!!!" attitude.

  • @vgman94 You just admitted a fetus is a stage of life. Ending life is murder. Actually, you need to keep up with current research they have proved that unborn children feel pain. I grew up a long time ago and refusing to face the truth is very childish on your part. I have taken 4 Biology classes from one of the top colleges in the nation. You don't stand for facts. Fact is, it is killing a human being. If you took 2 bullets to ur head you would not feel pain either. So pain is not the issue

  • @MrBuster128 says: Ending life is murder. I have taken 4 Biology classes from one of the top colleges in the nation.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ hahahaha, ya I went to prison for ending the life of a fly!! You should have asked one of your profs ( hahah (as IF you even finished high school.)what murder was...LMFAO..... hahahah Still spreading your BS, huh mr?? Good, prochoice thanks you!!!
  • @MrBuster128 says: I grew up a long time ago and refusing to face the truth is very childish on your part.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ hahahahahahahahahaha.........OMG

  • @MrBuster128 says: Fact is, it is killing a human being.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~ HORRAY...more probirth lies...we all love it. A fetus isnt a human being until birth... Keep lying my love
  • @MrBuster128 says to vgman: You don't stand for facts.
    ~~~~~~~~~ ya, thats why Vgmans info meshes with the laws that makes abortion legal and your cant change that. Wow, your good "college guy"!! LMAO

  • @MrBuster128 says: I have taken 4 Biology classes from one of the top colleges in the nation.

    ~~~~~~~~~~ Do you know people announce their accolades? Its because they have none. LOLOLOLOL
  • @MrBuster128 by the way, dont respond to me...as always, i will not talk to you when you directly talk to me!!
  • @MrBuster128 says: Take a biology class at your local college and learn something.
    ~~~~~~~~~~ Do you mean like you did, where you learned that killing something is murder?haha. by the way> Biology/ Science has NOTHING to do with the issue of legal abortion. Its about rights of people,the law, the 5th, 9th, 13th, & 14th Amendments,The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, The Supreme Court, social custom and necessity, & Roe v. Wade & NO science. GET TO COLLEGE AND LEARN

  • @MrBuster128 says: THOU SHALT NOT KILL.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~ We do anyway! LOLOLOL
  • @MrBuster128 says: I tell the truth
    ~~~~~~~~~~~ Only LIARS have to scream that they are telling the truth. (big grin)

  • @Sueezee1 I'm not screaming. :)

  • @MrBuster128 Don't try arguing with Sueezee, she harasses every openly pro-life individual on youtube. If you ignore her, she goes away, back to her corner where she rants to herself mindlessly, if you seriously think she's harassing you, I also recommend flagging her account.

  • @Bobanamanamo vomits; Don't try arguing with Sueezee,

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dont worry, like YOU MrBuster tried, but he CANT debate me. See all my posts to him that arent answered? Its sad Bobby boo that your so a scared of me and the truth that you have to tell others not to argue with me.. but then again, you demanding others do what YOU wnat them to...is nothing new is it? LOL
  • @Bobanamanamo say: I also recommend flagging her account.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~ hahahahha, poor bob..dont be so afraid of me. if you have the truht, there is nothing to worry about, now is there? LMFAO!! Flag my account??>? hahahahahahah

  • @MrBuster128 DUMB

  • Laura needs to seek public office. She now has the queens on her side.

  • Laura is pathetic.

  • LAURA 4 PREZ NOT GEORGE!

  • Im a liberal but I always thought Laura Bush was a decent lady, just had terrible taste in men

  • I happen to like her. She seems intelligent, open to the unknown, etc. She's ok, according to my schedule!!!

  • yeah bring it up when you got a book to promote... sigh

  • @hoewhy12 I take your point, but she didn't bring it up: Larry did.

  • @TheTerryGene These sort of interviews are often scripted (to an extent). Public figures normally know in advance what questions are going to be asked and specify what to talk about and what not to talk about. Regardless, I really hope she is genuine but my gut instinct says she isn't.

  • Let's not pretend that support of gay marriage, and pro-choice sentiment go hand in hand.

  • @BelieveandtrustJesus Sometimes I wish my parents would have aborted me.

  • She seems smarter than bush!

  • @BelieveandtrustJesus spoken like a true devil!!! showing your horns !

  • Everyone in power is owned by Satan.

  • I've noticed that everybody that is for abortion has already been born

  • @yizuman That's because everyone who has never been born lacks the ability to speak or communicate in any meaningful way.

  • @yizuman thank you CAPTN OBVIOUS

  • OMG NO WAY, I'VE NOTICED THAT TOOOO!!!!!

    Obviously.

  • @yizuman No one is really FOR abortion...they are for the CHOICE of abortion.

  • @MrDylannihilation double speak much?

  • Please trade places with Sarah Palin, PLEAAASSEEEE

  • @BelieveandtrustJesus : I'm sure Christ Jesus would want you to hate them !!! Because after all, he taught hatred and destruction for the baby killers and gays, though he never said a word about helping the poor, the orphans or widows.

  • This woman should've been president. She knows why abortion should be legal and wants to give rights to gays (I'm not big on marriage and think it's against human nature, but if they want to, who should tell them not to?). She's more progressive on this than her 1910-era husband will ever be. Al Gore was the other choice. Good choice in his own right, but so many people could've done something in the 8 years Bush killed the country with....

  • She's lovely.

  • @snowwhite7angels How do you reason?

  • u know all of u will never buy this 30$ book orreading it from the library .good women 400 pg taa alot of time to read

  • she seems nice, what the fuck is she doing with than war criminal of a husband

  • Laura Bush is actually pretty smart

  • No wonder George was so troubled.

  • A lot of people forgot Laura was a Democrat before George came along

  • A wonderful woman, unlike her husband...

  • If you have your own religion, great! I support your right to practice it. But don't for one second think that your religion dictates how everyone else should behave. If you don't support gay marriage, DON'T ENTER INTO ONE. Simple as that. ^_^

  • her husband may be an idiot and not know how to speak... but what she said is amazing and i agree with the other comments about how she should have ran for office instead of George! so many good things could have came from her being in office, like maybe not being in the pointless war and legalizing gay marriage!

  • She is brilliant!!! How did George get so lucky to get her!

  • This worthless example of a Christian lady is dumber than her husband.

  • Who cares what Laura Bush things? Anyone care? I didn't think so.

  • Laura Bush tailors everything she says to fit her audience, what a chameleon...I guarantee you if she was on with a more conservative talk show host she would be singing a different tune.

  • I love her accent.

  • why didn't she run for president?

  • Just think: Laura Bush is more progressive than Barry Obama! I've fallen through the rabbit hole!

  • we voted the wrong bush in

  • what a liberal lady, i can not believe she is Bush's wife. why the hypocritical republicans still do not go to hell

  • mass respect for her now

  • So Bush's wife is pro gay marriage and Obama is against? Sounds weird doesn't it?

  • @enjoyitbro Obama is pro gay

  • Laura Bush is a class act. Truly a graceful, elegant, and INTELLIGENT woman. The fact that she supports gay marriage and understands the importance of a woman's right to choose abortion makes me love her all the more.

  • @CornflakeGirlDC so because she gives you what you want, she is smart. In that case, intelligence is in the mind of the beholder.

  • @DannyBISFAJohnson Err...no. Rather she sees reason and logic. Social issues like marriage equality and choice shouldn't even be up for debate and Mrs. Bush was right in asserting that the right-wing attack on said issues shouldn't have been given so much attention, especially with the failing economy and two ridiculous wars.

  • @CornflakeGirlDC That is true. I can not understand why she got married whit someone like Bush

  • @CornflakeGirlDC Then why didn't she stand up for these rights when her hubby was in the WH?? I think she turned around only AFTER George stepped down. She's as plastic as Barbie....

  • @CornflakeGirlDC She's just a wolf in sheep's clothing

  • Smart Woman

  • Of course she is pro choice, she is married to a satanist who belongs to the skull and bones society. Who's grandpa was friends with Hitler...think im kidding? think again!

  • From 1 Corinthians 6:9...since you told me to KNOW what I am talking about BEFORE I go flapping my "mout"...your words...GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)

    "Don't you know that wicked people won't inherit the kingdom of God? Stop deceiving yourselves! People who continue to commit sexual sins, who worship false gods, those who commit adultery, homosexuals," ...are you going to argue about this?...it's directly from the Bible!

  • @paulpam43 Believe it or not, not everyone believes in the "word of god". It's like a Muslim follower telling you to believe the Quran. Would you do it? ;)

  • Comment removed

  • she should've ran for president, not george w. bush

  • I'm a Christian & a conservative Centrist. I am FOR gay/lesbian couples having rights. God gives us all a choice. By respecting others' choices, I am not condoning it, I'm respecting them. BUT, I do think that marriage is sanctified. People who are not religious should call it something else, like a union, even in hetero. relationships. We can't go around redefining someone's religion, we should redefine the TERM. I think religious people would be more open to voting for it in that respect.

  • @hcmontessori The Bible prescribes death by stoning for adulterers. It also prescribes that a widowed woman must marry her dead husband's next youngest brother. I hope we can all agree that some parts of the Bible are best preserved in spirit and not word-for-word. In the spirit of Christ's teachings, I believe we should celebrate love in all its forms. Only by granting an equal status of marriage to homosexuals can you truly accept their love as being as divine as any other couple's love.

  • @hcmontessori judgement is mine says YOUR LORD

  • @DarkestMarker - Exactly. We are NOT the ones who should judge. We are called to respect those who don't believe. (Says MY LORD, and I totally agree with Him.) God is a gentleman, and he calls us to be the same, respecting other's choices, even if we don't agree with them. I don't know if you heard me wrong... I am FOR gay unions and they should have ALL the same rights as "married" people (tax write offs, hospital rights, etc.).

  • @hcmontessori Over the centuries people who misunderstood or misinterpreted the Bible have done terrible things. The Bible has been misused to defend bloody crusades and tragic inquisitions; to support slavery, apartheid, and segregation; to persecute Jews and other non-Christian people of faith; to support Hitler's Third Reich and the Holocaust; to oppose medical science; to condemn interracial marriage; to execute women as witches; and to support the Ku Klux Klan.

  • @DarkestMarker - Everyone has done terrible things. Not just Christians.... Athiesists, Muslims, Jews AND Christians are capable of evil. EVERYONE of us, religious and not. BUT, EVERYONE of us is capable of good too. It is when we dwell on blaming and judging others,(instead of looking at ourselves) that we become wrong.

  • @hcmontessori

    *I Corinthians 6:9: is written by PAUL and it is a list of things he THINKS will exclude people from entering the kingdom of heaven. not to mention the Greek original from, which many English language Bibles have been translated from, is ambiguous about two of the groups who are condemned.

  • @hcmontessori "homosexual" is a very common translation, it is almost certain to be inaccurate: If Paul wanted to refer to homosexual behavior, he would have used the word "paiderasste." which was standard Greek term at the time for sexual behavior between males.

  • @hcmontessori The second term is "arsenokoitai" in Greek. The exact meaning of this word is lost. It seems to have been a term created by Paul for this verse. "Arsen" means "man" in Greek. So there is no way that "arsenokoitai" could refer to both male and female homosexuals. It seems that the translators gave in to the temptation to widen Paul's condemnation to include lesbians as well as gay males.

  • @hcmontessori Jerry Falwell believed the Bible supported segregation in the church until a black shoeshine man asked him, "When will someone like me be allowed to become a member of your congregation?" Through those simple words, the Holy Spirit spoke new truth about the ancient biblical texts to the Rev. Falwell, and in obedience he ended segregation at Thomas Road Baptist Church.

  • @DarkestMarker - This just goes to show that everyone (including Christians) have the capability for good and bad. He was wrong about supporting segregation. I'm just glad he eventually came to the right conclusion, that all of us are human beings, no matter the color. :)

  • @hcmontessori

    Even when we believe the Scriptures are "infallible" or "without error," it's terribly dangerous to think that our understanding of every biblical text is also without error. We are human. We are fallible. And we can misunderstand and misinterpret these ancient words -- with tragic results.

  • @DarkestMarker ...Agreed.

  • @hcmontessori Almost 1,000 people believed Jim Jones was a faithful interpreter of God's Word. They died with him in the jungles of Guyana. I studied Jones and leaders of other cults. I found that the only people who were able to break free of the dangerous influence of such Bible-quoting cultic gurus were the ones who took the Bible seriously enough to study the texts themselves and make their own decisions about their meaning. The others "leave their bones in the desert."

  • @DarkestMarker - This is why it is SO important to actually know what you believe! I totally agree. So sad.

  • @hcmontessori YOU USE ONE SINGLE VERSE TO SUPPORT YOUR CLAIMS AND IT WASN'T EVEN A VALID POINT

    I ASKED YOU TO POINT OUT A PART OF YOUR SCRIPTURE WHERE YOUR **LORD** CONDEMNS HOMOSEXUALITY

  • @DarkestMarker You started off so reasonably, then hammered the Caps Lock key and started being disrespectful. How do you think that helps your argument? hcmontessori already agreed that Christians don't have to condemn homosexuals.

  • @13one

    thanks for your input. you have no idea what HC and I were even "arguing" about

  • @DarkestMarker I was watching you argue, and so I do know what you were arguing about. But I saw one person communicating and the other frothing at the mouth.

    I realize the Internet makes it easy to act like an anonymous, ranting moron- but do you really have to jump at the opportunity?

  • @13one just because it is passive aggressive, does not make your condescending name calling in any way "helpful to your argument"

  • @DarkestMarker Passive? I believe I actively said you were acting like a moron. I'm glad to see you released your death grip on the caps lock.

  • @13one stating things through implication is technically passive.

    you did not state. you implyed

  • @DarkestMarker - HE DOESN'T. That's what I've been trying to say! It is one of those things that is unclear in the Bible. The things that ARE clear are: to love one another, don't judge (that's His job) and follow the 10 commandments. Everything not stated clearly like those things, are open for debate. This is why I am a Christian and I support gay unions. I'm all for people making informed decisions, not being put into a political category. This is why I consider myself a Centrist.

  • @hcmontessori I respect your views. The problem with your solution is it creates a "separate but equal" mentality, which did not work for African-American equality and will not work now. By naming marriage something else, you are still holding gay marriage at a distance and fostering an environment of intolerance in others.

    If you could share with me, I'd be interested to know how you think a gay marriage could affect or diminish your own?

  • @13one - My hubby has this same point of view. ^_^ You asked, "how would gay marriage affect/diminish my own marriage". My answer: I personally don't think that gay marriage would affect or diminish my own marriage at all. I'm all for them having the same rights! I think it's cruel, otherwise. My beef with it is that when the government tries to redefine the religious term for marriage, it violates the 1st amendment by interfering w/ several religions' doctrine.
