I just bought a Tamiya Hilux and was wondering if you had a list of parts that you used with this Tundra and/or what you would suggest for my Hilux. Thanks!
it feels good to watch the films again :-) I remember feeling before the bought the tundra. it's a good feeling to have when it is tough in life. :-) it's a year since I built the tundra now.
I got compltely inspired by this video an bought a Tundra, FXR-pro etc. Everything is on it way to Holland now. Can you please explain how you made your electrical connections considdering the lighting, external BEC and the two Lipo's? Goodluck!
i'm coming close to finishing my tundra build. i've also purchased the mfc-02 but it seems like i don't have led's for the four fog lights up front. what light kit did you use? i want to add led's to the fog lights.
can you explain what you did to the lighting wire? (i'm assuming that is lighting wire.) it looks like heat shrink tubing? and then also plastic protective coil? where can you get those products? i checked radio shack for the protective coil for another project, but they didn't have any. i'm putting together a tamiya tundra now. which by the way, you influenced me into getting after i saw your vids on your tamiya tundra project.
@mentalmetal1 Hello, and congrats! Sounds like your having lots of fun! Yes... the wrap is actually from an Auto-Store. Its electrical sheathing for electrical wiring. Hope that helps :)
@djmedic2008 thanks for the quick response. besides the electrical sheathing, did you use heat shrink tubing on the wiring? and is that a tamiya light kit or some other custom light kit? i got the mfc-02 for my tundra and i would like to protect and organize the wiring like you did.
@mentalmetal1 wow.. you spent some money! lol.. Lots of it! The tubing I used (the sheath) is called "Split loom 3/8th inch). I did not use shrink wrap other than on the exposed soldering. This is the Tundra Kit, but as you can see.. I highly modified it. The mfc2 will be a fun upgrade.. but make sure not to get any water anywhere near it. Its certainly not waterproof and can short out easily. Good luck bro!
Hi, my name is colby and i am trying to buy either a
Axial SCX10 1/10 4WD Trail Crawler RC Truck Kit, or a tamiya cr-01, i have been trying to figure out if they come with remotes and battery and the charger, i cant seem to find out i am on ehobbies.com, did yours come with that stuff and what website did you use, and which one is better out of the two im not going all out just something to do on days after school and i want to climb some big stuff yeah but not all out
Hey djmedic, what paints and premier did you use on the fender and truck? I saw your truck rollover cuple of times on your other videos. Does the paint doesn't scratch easily?
You did a fantastic job on your truck. Thanks for making the videos.
@mdivinc Hi Mike, you bet the esc was sealed in the container. To be truthful I never had an issue with heat. there was enough space in the container to keep it just fine. i checked quite often because it was my concern also, but never had an issue with it.. thanks for commenting!
hi there, i saw the whole build of this truck, and i was wondering if the stock suspention was flexable at all, for crawling of course, and also i was wondering if u can give me some tips, im not that interested in comps, i just want it so i can just fool around with it in the backyard or something
It did work.. Folks just didnt like the box in the bed.. so since its a movie prop.. I changed the waterproofing technique. I do have waterproofing vids available in my list of vids
My friend did that with his electronics then soon moved them under the cab section because it kept wheeling and slipping over back ward. couldn't climb very well keep tipping over.
That depends on what kind of builder you are my friend... if you have experience in building kits.. you may find this to be a wonderful project... if not.. well.. it may frustrate you
Awesome truck.....i'm slowly putting together the Tamiya Ford 350 highlift..with a hole lot of hop-ups from rc4wd..the cab of the truck will have a detailed interior....just need to save up up for the multi function unit..which costs as much as the model.
Thats awesome man! congrats.. what a nice kit that would be! I have also looked at the ford.. its brilliant. It shocked me in the sheer size of the model when its put together. Its actually quite large. THat MFU sure is over priced, but a cool addition. i take it you dont want to run the truck in any mud? Should be a nice show truck by the time your done! I look forward to seeing it ! Good luck!
how much do you think it would cost with all stock parts. because im only 13 and my parents do not pay for my rc cars i have to. right now i have a 4x6 stampede and i was thinking of selling that and some other stuff but i dont know if i will have enough. nice video to!
i don't want to know how much i've spent but it's only money and you can't take it with you lol...still need radio gear, multi function unit..and i'm have the body shell painted have to safe my pocket money..lol,..once built its gonna be a shelf queen..i'd be to scared to run it outside..but i will post a video....watch this space.
My friend.. i dont actually work for a hobby shop.. I own a small film company.. and I like to build R/C's for people to see! Im always happy to show folks some things that make them smile :~)
A rough estimate of this truck is about $2000 CDN... bu that is totally hopped up like in the video, with all the fixin's
Nice video series mate, I love the look of your build up. And that is such clean wiring, where might I find some of that black tube you're using to cover your wires and such?
are those banana chips in the bowl? 5:35... crap,... now im hungry!

Good work. That's one NICE RC... wish they came with all the extra you put on it, I would buy it in a heart beat.
Been looking at RC's like this one, but I think I'm going for a 1/8 Crawler (if I ever find one that suites my specs).
