Fine job on this rollicking Newfoundland favourite. The internationally popular band Great Big Sea recorded a shortened variant as Rant & Roar, Gerald S. Doyle collected a variant titled The Ryans And The Pittmans, which was recorded with variations in later years by two other top Newfoundland bands, Ryan's Fancy and The Fables. In fact, since the mid-fifties, there have been 27 recordings made just in Newfoundland of We'll Rant And We'll Roar, and 21 recordings of Ryans And The Pittmans. Thanks
Nice rendition and a great song!

Interesting. I sing Spanish Ladies in a minor key, (Video attached.)
It's amazing how these songs/tunes get around.
Roy Palmer, in Oxford Book of Sea Songs suggests that sailors of the Royal Navy used the major, but merchantmen used the minor.
