  • @matey27 The wii uses previous generation hardware. The sort of stuff that was in pc's back in 2003. And not even good pc's, at that. The wii is a fun little console. It is not a competitive one, however. Stop bowing to pointless brand loyalty and realise that different things do different jobs.

  • @matey27 I wouldn't call it a port considering they took like 2 years to remake it on the Wii.

  • @matey27

They used even more time making the Wii version than the PS3/360 version, and it was a big franchise, so they put a lot of money into it. COD4 only uses like 40% of the PS3's power, so you can also say that the PS3 could have done a lot better on it too.

  • we dont talk about "funny" .. we talk about "realistic" ..

  • why can't everyone just say that all 3 systems have good games. who cares about truer then life graphics in a video game anyway?graphics don't make a game any funner

  • PS3 does not have worse graphics than the Wii. The 360 has better graphics than the Wii. The Wii is shit.

  • yeh i agree with that one

  • 4D is possible. If you had researched or watched videos, like Einstein said, "The Fourth Dimension is Time Itself"

  • Your mom is a wii. I dont even have one, I have a ps3 twos 360s a ps1slim and two pcs dumbass. and the fourth dimension is shape-shifting

  • Go back to your dime store graphics on the Wii then! :D

It's only around 10yrs behind Full HD! lol ....and the only console you can still play with legacy graphics on every game!

  • Your mom is a wii. I dont even have one, I have a ps3 twos 360s a ps1slim and two pcs dumbass

  • You don't have to own a Wii to know it has terrible graphics.

  • @mysonyps3 Console loser is console loser.

  • @badboygbd

Correction: PS3 has 3 times the graphics capabilities than a Wii.

The Wii version of COD4 looks like a PS2 game...

  • @badboygbd The proposed fourth dimension is causality, (which we observe as "time").

This is referred to as "4d" because the objects are moving through the fourth dimension. Not that hard to figure out. Although this is utterly pointless and I've yet to see it applied to a real game.

  • @badboygbd While the wii is a good gaming platform, the interior is proof that it can't and won't ever be able to produce as defined and complicated graphics as the PS3. Oh your comment is a year old? Its still wrong.

  • this isnt really that great. another way to do it would be to just slowly change the material over time...if thats not the way they did it.

  • This isn't that great? You idiot we've entered a new age of graphics that includes real time on the fly calculation of 3D textures in time full 4D and you're lame enough to say that isn't that great? PS3 is running full real time Ray Tracing in HOME, which is something games running DirectX can't do! xD

OpenGL 3.2 just released and it brings what OpenGL ES 2. has already brought to the PS3. At this point it is what makes games like Killzone 2 possible, idiot! Go jerk off on your Xbox 3fixme!

  • dude calm down. I'm just saying i dont think they should really need to "age" things in a game. unless your playing it for like 20 days straight. its great technology. im just saying the idea of "aging" the things isnt that great. in my opinion.

And i love ps3. They just make games to freakn expensive. I would play it more too if I didn't have a life and i had money to waste. Not that the 360 is much different.

  • oh and you cant use crysis as an example coz its coming to ps3 and xbox lol

  • yeah ofcource pc will always be better because pc's are always being updated. by the time a new computer has reached the end of production and is shipped out its technoligy is already out of date.

but still rather than comparing why dont you just look at what we can do nowadays with gaming. its amazing how far it has come since games like pacman or pong

  • so, the 4`th dm is.. time?

  • Yeps.

  • 4d hum ps3 won sorry pc and 360 only cell proccesor has enught power and spped to run this.

  • PC can allways be better than any console and to what cost?

I dont know, but PS 3 still has good graphics

  • Even HOME has 4D now & it continually evolves in Real Time. So Kutaragi was right from the start!

PC has what game that can compete w/ Killzone Graphics (which are OpenGL ES 2.X, OpenVG and OpenMAX from Khronos Group)? Nothing!

No game on PC has Deferred Rendering w/ MSAA (DX10 features) like KZ2. No game on PC has the physics & animation quality with "REAL TIME" Ray Tracing either! Real Time Ray Tracing is in GT-5 Prologue & Full 2!

PC has nothing even close, not even Crysis competes! :D

  • But... but... but Crysis is teh boss :(

  • LoL !

PC got more power in processor and speed in graphics.

  • but costs like 2000$????

  • Even S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC has better graphics...

  • You've been smoking too crack, loser! haha

  • what is the difference between 3d and 4d?

  • is very simple.. its a joke tell me what another direction there is i can see 3 only heh

  • so real

  • playstation 3 have that 4d i own ps3 60 gb

  • You own.

  • lol @ the dumb arguing about 4d...1)it can be represented on screen but ur brain wont understand it and u can barely even contemplate a 4d navigation without serious computer aided assistance so why anyone would make a 4d game is beyond my understanding...imagine the keypad ud need... up/down north/south west/east AND ana/kata the 4th spacial dimension direction. and 2) wtf is with ppl saying time? we arent talking physics here, were talking graphics, meaning lines being made into 2d and 3d stuf

  • Actually this IS time. Until now, games have not been able to render shadows in real time like that. So the shadows change over TIME. That's where the 4D term comes from.

  • But its incorrect. Its nothing more than fast 3D. And janjaso were talking both because they brought up the dimensional question.

  • yeah all its doing is moving the shadows about i dont get it, 4-D cube video showed it going mental with 2 boxes in one revolving.

  • Allegorithmic has developed a technique for 4D that makes textures appear very similar to how a TV works. Using pixels that are generated on the fly in Real Time. Every single pixel can then respond to every other pixel. Because every color is there, even though we can't see it. It's all layered dimensionally in each pixel of 4D!

That's how Snake's leg changes colors to match the watermelon in real time. With the AI in the very pixels of every scene, 4D brings things alive like never before! ;)

  • ever notice that the older an object is in a game, the realer it looks? they should just make evrything rotted out and crap.

like solid snake in MGS4, his old ass looks more realistic than his young snake octocamo

  • so ur saying an old ladies rack looks more realistic than an 18 year old

  • Guys. If you can't understand Mr. Scientists's explanations, 4D refers to TIME, not an actual tangible dimension. Even the title of this video says "Time".

The sheer power it takes to apply time (Apply 4D) to an object is immense, which is why the Ps3 is able to do it, but not the 360. I'm not putting any console down, I'm just saying.

  • i hate when people explain too much!!!!!!!

  • i hate it when retards dont understand it =)

  • well, if you were to look at a 4 dimensional figure, you would see a 3 dimensional figure within a 3 dimensional figure connected by one dimensional figures to the outer part, but would all have just been a 2dimensional figure all along, so it is a reality within a reality. that is how we cannot be a 4th dimension, we must create a 4th dimension through entertainment. 4d can also be described as the brain's limitless space.

  • @lllusionx True! Even 3D in graphics is an illusion that requires our brains to interpret 3D when in fact it's on a 2D screen. So there are many perceptions of 4D as well. The 4th Dimension can simply be a Space in "TIME"! ..or it can be as in MGS4 graphics, demonstrated by a 3D Reality representation inside of a 3D Reality representation all running in real time on a 2D screen. It's all a mater of our perceptions of time and space in or at any given moment and how they relate in Real Time!

  • im not aying that is is how you perceive it, im saying that is is the perception itself. the fact that your mind see's the detail and notices it in such a way is the 4d experience.

people could argue about this forever, there is no touchable 4th dimension untill you make your own.

  • There is no touchable 4th Dimension period! It's all a point of view, changing in real time and to a greater extent is only made concrete by the fact that 4D is simply a pure mathimatical equation. That we can not see or touch except as numbers. The only reason we even know it exists is in the math! So again what we see as 4D is an illusion. Just as 3D is an illusion on a 2D physical grahics plane! Your Mind is what makes those numbers appear to be 3D or 4D on a flat screen! 4D = 3D + time!

  • Well if your really want to be nit-prickly then the fourth dimension is defined as being able to consciously traverse time in one universe (if I remember correctly. We live consciously in the 3rd dimension however we all live in ten (the rules get really crazy by that point) and an eleventh hasn't been defined as it's suspected it doesn't exist. However the fourth dimension in graphics is supposed to be textures that can show age and wear over the period of a game.

  • well this explains why the ps3 is so expensive its that $300 flux capacitor that when used renders time in HD. with this ps3 i shall view the time of rome in HD and tell them that i am a god. XD bow before your ps3 god :-D lol but yeah any wase there talking about another dimension of space that is used to render multi time versions of the same object. so what you see is one copy of possible thousands of copies of the same world running at the same time so they can render together.

  • This is using their old engine and Cell. Now Allegorithmic has "Substance Engine" that generates it's Graphics in 4D Real Time. PS3's Cell can use 3 of it's game cores running that engine to produce these 4D graphics. X360 only 1 core (less speed) and a Quad Core CPU just 2cores. PS3 running "Substance" Engine won't be topped until Intel gets Substance for it's 80core. It's not even out yet! PS3 runs RTRT (RealTimeRayTracing)Monte Carlo RT now for 4D in Uncharted! WetWaterReflections to 4D-dry

  • 3 cores on the x360

  • very cool thanks for the info. now that i have the ps3 80gb mgs4 pack i now know what heaven is and i like it :-) now where is all them sexy angels in hd ;-)

  • lolz im going to use my pc which is still more powerful so my heaven is like heaven of the heavens xD lmao.

  • imgaine using technology like this, for just one possiblility, but to creat a CSI type game where its real time, and the bodys, enviroment, and everything changes as you progress through the game, example, a difference whether you get to a murder scene within an hour or a day, an hour, the crime scene being fresh, the victims blood still red and warm, and a day, the blood dried, different effects on the body, and they are stiff, to affect how easy or hard to solve the case, man thats so cool!

  • actually i think that yes 4D is time, but it is also the effect of time obviously. without "4D" im guessing there is no change of picture, like nothing gets old and rusty without it. If there was no 4d nothing will look rusty, or dirty through the time that passes.

  • Uncharted, R & C, and now MGS4. Snake ages and his Octocamo change in Real Time plus many other examples too. So yeah since we can't see time, only see the effects of it, it's a rough concept to comprehend for most people!!!

  • because of the light -.-'

  • u must be so dum not to understand what these ppl mean.

  • @McViRuSfxp Since you are too lame to understand the concepts discused here and prefer having your butt pumped by "Monkey Boy" Balmer, I've deleted you're latest comment and blocked you! SOCKPUPPETS will not be tollerated. So stick that in your sock and suck on it!!! HAVE a NICE DAY! :D

  • MCVIRUSFXP, ur the dumbest fuckhead ive ever seen in my life, 360 can not render 4 d graphics, only ps3 and high end pcs can, timeshift is a shitty game and has nothing to do with 4d graphics, go to school, or read up some facts before you come in here and make urself look even more fucking stupid

  • um, no its not stop motion, and thats the point of 4d graphics fucktard, in real time, the enviroment and everything in it, changing by each second. so many possiblilities, only for ps3 and high end pc, and no, silent hill 5 does nothing like 4 d graphics and its not possible on 360, sorry fanboy, u lose. lean what 4d graphics is and how it works and what can run it before you open ur shit filled fanboy mouth.

  • wait 4D is when not only are things realistically dimensioned but also when time and effects of time are added right?

  • Maybe when it comes to gaming

  • let me clear something :

VIDEO GAMES CAN NEVER HAVE 4D GRAPHICS...

It simply goes like this :

    1D- Flat Picture

    2D- Flat picture with background

    3D- Realistic (Our word)

4D- TIME ((Cant have graphics there, cant get more real then 3D))

    5D- Quantum Exchange of energy

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • I know already the next step of this. Beacause currently it's only textures. After that the physical aspects will have to change as well as the size,...

Would love to see once actually trees/gras growng or that if somehting rots, that more than just the texture would change. E.g. That a whole would start growing in a metal plate when rusting. Also that it would break easier.

I guess I'll have to wait for the PS 5 as all this currently would require too much memoery and cpu power.

  • lol funny if u think about the PS5 how the PS4 will be how will it be special lol

  • The Dunia engine for Far Cry 2 will have realtime growing vegitation. I'm not sure about rotting or aging, however.

  • What's the technical term for 4d textures? Procedural textures?

  • ps3 got 4d

  • OK 4D

Film yourself doing whatever, then put the same video on two TV's, play the first one, then about 20 seconds later play the second, then go cross eyed to look at both and the same time adn thats preety much what it is, almost like a ghost racecar in grand turismo or something.

  • i dont still fully understand what 4d is, but im start to get the idea.

would this mean that say: if we killed someone in a video game they could rot away?

  • Actually the 4th demension is time, if we lived in the 4th demension we could see ourselves a certain amount of time behind and in front of our present selves. 5th demension is where you can see all the different paths you could possibly take, where 4D is the one you DO take.

it goes on like that, until you reach the 10th Demension, which is String Theory, represented by a dot.

  • the fourth dimension is time in einsteins relativity... in higher math the fourth dimension is variable, ie can be applied to hypothetical spacial dimensions that areunobservable on our scope....

  • If I was looking at a model, it would be a static 3d. But if it moved, that would ad 3d model + it moving 1d = 4d

In this case, the textures are changing over time. It's a nice effect. Whether someone could make a whole 3d mesh object rot away, hmm no I think it's just textures for now. Unless the bump/normal maps change the shape of the model over time. I guess you could have a rotting corpse effect.

  • PC titles still look better

  • 4D graphics, HAVE been used before, going through days in the GTA games, dog's life with drying over time.

though, the actual objects aging and deteriorating IS a new concept.

  • I did 4D on Amiga PC's. Recently as 2000 I started using MoJoWorld to create them. But what makes it different today on PS3, is it's generated in Real Time in direct interaction to the environment including Lighting, Shading, and POV (point of view). So nothing is pre-rendered and you are seeing it as it happens and is generated, then displayed, just like in Life! ...Uncharted is an excellent example of Real Time On the Fly loading of Procedural Textures including 4D!!!

  • 4D graphics it's a simple concept: Real time rendered textures. The graphics engine renders several times each texture, giving the effect of "changing textures"

  • Actually 4D textures here are multi-layered and self animated to respond to their environment(ProFX site has 4D texture samples and they are not conventionally static) with ability to change and move to surface in reaction to things such as TIME, Lighting, and Shadowing, in real time. With ProFX Engine running texture generation and a Game Engine (UE3) running camera, audio, control and other game related game related functions.

  • It is the base animated moving texture with layers constantly moving in all directions that constitutes 4D here. With many parts that are not visable to the human eye. It's what gives these 4D textures an aliveness all their own and bring the entire picture to life! So they are not simply an illusion of "changing textures", they are simply "4D Live Changing Textures"! Stop the textures moving and Time/4D also stops just as with Einstein's physics!

  • we dont know what 4d looks like b/c we live in a 3d world so we see the 3D objects but the computer knows its 4d.

  • thats 4D, you can see it more clearly. It maybe a video but think of it as a game. Your a character who is watching all of those objects for a long time. Eventually you will see the objects age.

  • What makes it 4 dimenational? isn't the fourth dimension time? all i see is 3D stuff. idk if im right or not this isn't my subject.

  • Shadows pass as if in time laps video. Metal rusts and cardboard deteriorates. Dust and dirt build up as well that's about as close as it gets to visually seeing the effects of time on our world. That's 4D!!! Einstein said, "Time it seems is constantly moving while going in all directions at once. Therefore time is considered to be the fourth dimension of space and thus begins our journey into the Time Space Continuum of all Matter in time!"

  • Time cannot be the "fourth dimension" because it is not spacial. Time is of another beast altogether.

  • time is the fourth dimension...... u retard do some research

  • Time and space are equivalent. You really should read up on Einstein.

  • Yes you are right "fourth dimension" is spacial. But there are some theories in different fields which uses the term 4D, in Fisics for example "Time" is consider as 4D. but in geometry, and in space of course, 4D has another connotation: looks for Hypercube in this site or in wikipedia.

Hope this helps to understand the term.

    Thanks.

  • I think those are 3D, not 4D (but i´m confused) the only thing im totally sure is that prgram rocksss!!!

    Byezzzzz

  • : /

  • No puedo cambiar tu mente. No deseo a.

  • how do you do this? A pre-stored sequence or procedural?

  • @lakyab Yes this is procedurally generated scene with compressed size. But on Sony's PS3 it is powerful enough to generate them in real time. Snake's face in MGS4 will age, etc.! Newest Nvidia card can run 4D in real time too. Crysis will have them!

  • I don't understand what your saying. Isn't procedural generation fairly easy to do with little power?

  • Part 1. Procedural generation takes less memory, but more calculation work to produce the textures on the fly. So they need higher clock rates and ability to display as they are generated in real time. The slower the computers, or consoles, the more behind they get and the slower they are displayed so they become slow motion or out of sync. Also initial load time become a factor as do transitions.

  • Part 2. @AK666jk Because of this, a PC with an Nvidia 8800 will take 5 seconds to load the "Bayou" demo scene. The Xbox 360 will take 10 seconds to load "Bayou" demo. The PS3 is capable of loading that scene in near real time, because it is an Asymmetrical Multicore processor as compared to the symmetrical multicore of PC and Xbox 360. PS3 seldom if ever needs a transition, because it can always be loading a scene in the background like a Mini Render Farm of computers!

  • PS3 can handle stuff like that I know, but the 360 has it's own advantages, it has 3 cores which makes it better for graphics and detail. PS3 does load extremely fast, and could handle compressed discs a lot better than the 360 (it doesn't need to though). So if what you say is true, the 360 would probably be able to load better with something like this if it wasn't procedurally generated. I bad at explaining this though. And it's not really 4D.

  • @AK666jk I'm not saying 360 is bad machine. But we know everything about the 360. PS3 still has many secrets and you will know more by Christmas what 4D is on PS3. When "Gameframe" comes aboard and PS3 goes "Live" as largest distributed computing network in the World!*** Kutaragi, "You may think you own a Playstation, but Playstation belongs to all who have the PS3"!

  • cool

  • If you think this is cool. Remember watching MGS4 Trailer with Snake in his Octocamo Suit? How do you thing his changed before your eyes to match the watermelon? That's 4D! The picture is made up of living moving, morphing, aging textures. With the Foxdie Virus you watch him actively age. That is 4D!

  • me estare quedando ciego?
