All of Popeye's food has just ONE ingredient...SPINACH! What is with him in these fleisher cartoons? It's like spinach is the only thing, he'll eat! Man can not live on spinach alone.

@newstarcadefan True. Also in the comics, he didn't like spinach at first but he started eating it and grew on him. I don't doubt in the comics he advocates eating fruits and veggies, but I don't think he lives on spinach alone, like he appears to in most of these paramont cartoons.

@bearfrogkittycat That's just the way he was designed in the original comic strips he started out in. I've been watching all of his shorts chronologically and not one ep. has shown him with teeth.  The only time he has teeth is when Robin Williams played him in the live action movie.

in the old black and white popeye cartoons, there was an episode where there were kids in an old-style schoolhouse, and there would be a random athropromorphic monkey with the group of kids. guess what the hell that was suppossed to be? :D

well at least the old racists werent supplicating the beef lobby and they were instead promoting good nutrition, vegetarianism, and animal welfare.

I don't think it is likely since the dialogue in the new wraparound segment before the clip would have to be re-recorded, and the poster in the background would have to be replaced. For as long as I've known, when this cartoon airs edited, the clip from "Pop-Pie a La Mode" is removed altogether as well as the new segment before it to introduce the clip.

Accually I remember seeing "Spinach Vs. Hamburgers" many MANY times as a child in the late 70's early 80's and now after all these years, watching this again, Now I remember they even had edited out "Pop Pie A La Mode" even back then....and I have another story to tell you. I also remember when stations would get prints, i remember watching them multi-times, then for soem reason, the cartoon would appear with a few seconds of a scene edited out...hmmm
