@civagiarn Thank You. I filmed this @Stansted you need to travel to Belmer Road to be able to get the viewing area. You are along the fence line here, there is a small mound of earth down towards the old control tower, otherwise STN isn't the easiest of airports to film at. You need to focus more on the landing gear when you film plane landing. That's the whole point.

@CAPlaneSpotting Is it? Sorry I missed the point in all of my videos up until now, thank you for your insight. Come to Stansted and tell me how you get on filming the landing gear, up close or otherwise. It;s not the easiest airport to film at!

@bananamanuk If I had the opportunity to film at your location, I guarantee I would have no problem filming a close up of the landing gear. You may be having trouble because of the tripod you use, do you use a fluid tripod? Sorry if I came off as rude, I didn't mean it that way. Your videos are very good, keep up the good work.

@CAPlaneSpotting Thank you for your reponse. Very rarely do I take issue with a comment posted, good or sensible criticism, but I was shocked by your first one & such a sweeping statement. The point of filming aircraft is to film the aircraft, cockpit, wheels, engines, the machine. Each of us takes different aspects into account. I appreciate ur clarification, & thank u 4 taking time to respond. Stansted is exceptionally difficult, I suspect u have a clear view, I have to film up a 6 ft ladder.

Great video! I've been watching FDX001 on her out bound trip back to Memphis for the last two years here in Sheffield. This time of years great because aircraft look so good high up in the setting sun during May & June. I'm sad to see FedEx replacing the MD11 with the trip7 and it reminds me of the time BMA started to faze out the Viscount in the 80's along with BA and the Trident, but I guess time moves on and the 777 is a great aircraft too. Any plans to catch FDX1 Bannana's??

I have filmed a fair number of FedEX aircraft, mainly MD11, also A300 and 777, you should be able to find some more of the 777's in my other videos. For example "EVEN MORE! Flying Into London Stansted" or try "Flying in 2009" for MD11's of Martinair. If you take a look at my website under video listing I try and list aircraft featured. @GREENY7798 Hi thanks a lot. The best thing to do is to check out flightstats website, this gives you a listing of everything due in and out that day and the aircraft used. That really is my best advice. For the specials and one off's the best places are pprune and/or joining the Stansted Airport group on Yahoo Groups. I'm guessing by the fact that you said about the clocks going forward means that the Fedex arrivals are normally quite late in the day?

If I was to choose a random evening to go and stand there would I see one, or would I need some more research to see when they will arrive etc etc??

@tommo900 Hi tommo900 thanks for your kind words, I appreciate it and am glad you liked the video. I've seen FedEX's come in from about 4:30pm to around 6:30pm and they have both MD11 and 777 coming in. The best place to look would be flightstats as they are listed on there. I caught this one on a Saturday as it arrives and day stops then until Monday departure. I hope that helps.

Very professional Dave, some lovely aircraft there I do like the Avro RJ85 as it is in my fleet for MS2004. Very nice FedEx 777, but I think I prefer the MD11. Do you use a tripod?

As for the green views and the birds... believe me, sometimes those are the only interesting things at STN! it gets a little boring watching Ryanair 737's all day :-)

Great as always u took a trip to stansted its probadly the worst I've been to i got told not to take pictures by some Ryanair Bit*h and you get odd looks i saw a few 747s 2 MD11s and a 757 but other than that its Ryanair all day long

@Aviationnation10 Stansted is basically Ryanair & Easyjet. Sometimes there's something a bit different. You shouldn't have any problems taking pictures outside of the airport. BAA policies mean that people are often asked not to take pictures inside the airport/ airside. There are ways and means of asking people however.
