How do you sharpen these? They are so hard to sharpen, the pencil/wood is very HARD. It feels like you are sharpening plastic.

im looking for a white eyeliner that can stay on my waterline for a reallly long time and that is pigmented . do you think i can use this on my waterline ? if not can you please tell what are other great drugstore white eyeliner i can use for my water line ?

@jerelynjoy110 the stial eye kajal is the best one I have tried- these will not stay on for very long since they are not made to be a liner- I am also not sure if they are eye safe for waterlines!

I tried using as a n eyeliner.Works pretty good but it's not meant for that so I would suggest using it as a base fore your eyeshadow.

most beauty stores sell sharpeners that ahve two sizes on it- large and small!

someone told me that the nyx jumbo pencils were sort of like the mac paint pots. A friend depotted her pencils and said they were kind of the same...she said she uses a primer underneath and get the same effect.

what do you think?

yes they are very similar! they do work better on most people with a base under them!

I love the pigmentation of these pencils, but they do crease easily. My eyes are slightly hooded with a few wrinkles, so I have to use the smallest amount with a good primer underneath. Even then, they crease if I apply even slightly too much or don't use the right primer. For those with few wrinkles, these will work great and the color payoff is unbeatable. They're really sticky, so your eyeshadow really clings onto them, and they're the perfect base for loose pigments.

no those are actually a cream shadow that needs a primer under it also! :o)

surprisingly enough, I actually use the NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow pencil in Yogurt as my eyeshadow primer....and then my eyeshadow sticks all day. I have not had any problems at all with this approach and it is cheap!!!!

@TexasBabey with any regular sharpener that you might you for pencil eyeliners. Usually a pencil sharpener comes with two wholes a big one and a little one use the big one. Nyx sell a pencil sharpener use the big whole for ur nyx jumbo eye pencils

Hi Lisa! This is a bit irrelevant to the review video but I was wondering which brush you love to use to apply liquid foundation? I remember from your past reviews you said you liked the MAC 109 or the Sephora #55 brush? Which one would you reccomend to apply the shiseido foundation mixed with a bb cream? THanks!

I use either my sephora 55 or my MAC 183 or the costal scents italian badger buffing brush!

I really love White and Black Bean. I've melted them down and put them in a pot. I use a brush to brush it on my lids after I've applied primer. The white really brings out the color of bright eye shadows! Great Review, Lisa! Hope you have a great Holiday.

Nyx jumbo pencils are great, but I find that the formula varies. For example, Black Bean is creamier and easier to apply than Milk which is thicker and tends to be tackier. Also these two have a matte finish while others like Yogurt and Cream Cheese have a pearly sheen.

Personally, I prefer to use Revlon's Illuminance Cream e/s palettes as a base over an eye primer and under pressed powder e/s to intensify color.

hi just to say you can get it in uk i live here and have found nyx in my local derrys store it not a massive stand but it has most things on it. i was thinking about gettin the french fries pensil as i wear brown eyeshadow sometimes and ill put that underneath. thanks for this review.
