In 10 years the mls will be top 3 in the world. Our youth programs have been destroying big clubs' like chelsea, man u, newcastle, for years. There are many internationals who play in the mls. Angel, Blanco, Donovan, Beckham did, dempsy did, mcbride, ljunberg a ton of brilliant keepers. MLS is only on mostly when I cant watch it, I catch a game every 2 weeks and they are getting better. They do beat EPL teams in the summer every once in a while.

World Class players might make upwards of 80 mil over a career, but the "average" soccer player maybe makes 10-20 mil over a course of a 10-15 year career. Let's put it this way. Tim Howard just started making near $2 Mil a year at everton and he's 30 and above average. Even if he made $2MIL over a 20 year career that's $40 Mil.......

In 10 years the mls will be top 3 in the world. Our youth programs have been destroying big clubs' like chelsea, man u, newcastle, for years. There are many internationals who play in the mls. Angel, Blanco, Donovan, Beckham did, dempsy did, mcbride, ljunberg a ton of brilliant keepers. MLS is only on mostly when I cant watch it, I catch a game every 2 weeks and they are getting better. They do beat EPL teams in the summer every once in a while.

I was pointing our how there are big players who go to mls, as I said before I dont watch it much cause its not on when Im home due to my schedule but when I do catch a game occasionally I see soem very good 'soccer' if you will. MLS is really becoming a better league I dont understand the hate. Maybe your afraid the americans will be better? The top youth clubs are beating englands, spains, italys, germanys, and have consistently. Mls teams beat EPL teams in the summer, about half thegames.

haha. i have followed david beackham throughout his career, i had a season ticket at manchester united in the 99, 00 and 01 season, i have traveled to france, germany, turkey and greece to watch him play for england. so yeah i have seen him play. and he is not the player he once was. also dont look at computer games to see how good a player is, thats just bullshit. i watch many eveton games this season and tim howard is far from spectacular. derosarino has nerver played at the higest class.

No.. I mean the youth clubs not youth national teams. They have consistently beaten large clubs youth teams in europe. The likes of chelsea, valencia, bayern, birmingham, newcastle etc. The play off format is because (I think) the country is so spread out you cant travel that far everyweek. And also, think about it, if there were playoffs in the EPL do you think Man u would have won?

Every country has youth talent. Asia has exceptionally good youth talent, so does South America. However, unless you have a good environment to push you to the next level, you will never go anywhere. The reason why Europe is so good, is because they know how to raise their talent and form them into their standards. America and the rest of the world don't have that, which is why the MLS will always be on the same level as the Japanese league and Mexican league.

I mean to say our youth wasnt good when the current oh 22 + year olds didnt have a very popular select system. Most kids just played not cause it was soccer but cause it was another sport. Now thats changed and kids here watch soccer all the time, they know who big teams are. Ive been to more EPL games then MLS games lol. But im saying the new youth are better, more competitive and will develope into great players.The MLS is getting there. Its funny people say mexico is goodbut we beat them.

I perfer soccer over football though been playing it since I was 8 and play on Coed A clubs. Honestly I dont understnad why Beckham transfered to MLS -.- that was a huge mistake.

well we only started mls about 15 years ago and we've made good progress. you might consider that the european leagues have been around forever. every league has to start somewhere. considering america's ambition to be good at everything i expect mls to eventually become a premier league. it just will take a long time

in all fairness the premier league only started in 92 and now its globally renowned.also i doubt the mls will be as big as the premier league because the season doesnt fit in with the fifa tournaments among other time constraints.the american fanbase for football may have increased recently but its always gonna be below american football and in turn wont get the same financial backing as the big leagues get which wont attract the big players not to mention the style of football played in the mls

No actually, the US youths play the top academies, not the "C" teams of europe. The US beat spain you tard, did your country? No. US consistently wins or is 2nd in the gold cup. Most prefer league cause thats what theyre used to. But if you think about it, it should be what team is best in the end. If the EPL had playoffs I gaurentee you ( I am a fan of man U) man u would not have won. The champions league has an extremely similar format, I dont see you complaining.

No, I am from Germany. Yeah, it was a fluke. Why? because none of the players on the US are being offered contracts to big clubs yet. If they were really skilled, which they are not. You would see some transfers. Greece won the Euro Cup of 2004...look where they are now... so yeah... I would think before talking you idiot. Go play on your American football fields (which still have American lines painted on) and talk to me when your country starts to have at least 10,000 fans attending matches.

See, you dont even know what your talking about. If you actually watched MLS or any of these players...I doubt you actually watched the spain us game cause no one seems to think it was a fluke. With greece that was 5 years ago, spain winnign euros was less than one. Where are all the big greece players? Many US players play at big clubs. BTW, only 1 mls team plays on a football field and most have on average 15,000 fans. Seattle has 29,000 season ticket holders. See, you dont know shit.

Hahah my bad. Sorry for not giving a shit about a crappy league like the MLS. Yet, you can't even afford to build "soccer" stadiums for those clubs. They still play in American Football stadiums... Don't compare your shitty little league to any of the European leagues... I wouldn't even put the MLS on terms with the Japanese league here. At least here they actually build football stadiums for their clubs.
The USA got lucky and I can guarantee they won't make it past the group stage in the WC.

Okay, why would a soccer club in the MLS waste money building a stadium (even tho about half the league HAS) when they could have a football stadium that isnt used till the season is over with 50,000 + seats? Tens of millions of dollars or maintain the grass for an additional 3 months,what would you choose? And the US made it to the quarter finals in 2002 and did okay in 2006 (was the only team not to loss to italy) The truth is I had the same opinion as you, then I actually watchd some games

Well what game did you watch? Itd be like if I watched Derby county 2 years ago play like wigan. Should I judge the prem by those teams? Ha. THere truly is some quality in the MLS. Last summer the allstars beat chelsea and the fire(built their own new stadium sponsered by toyota) beat everton in a thrashing. So it depends what team you watch and if you watch it with a 'this sucks' attitude then you wont notice good things.

Have you even seen the olympics? Most of the developed world plays those sports, and most of the time they are better than the US. Ice hockey is huge in Canada, more so than the US. Basketball is also big worldwide, EVERY country plays it. Baseball is huge worldwide. Ever heard of the World Cup of Baseball? Cuba, South Korea, and Japan are the best teams in the world. Nobody plays baseball outside of America? You're fucking retarded.
