I prefer styles that teach you to be the aggressot, not self-defense techniques. Attack first always. What if someone is trying to rape your girl? Would you tell that person " hey strike me so I can do my self-defense counter sttack "? No. Instead os delf-defense systems I prefer self-attack systems.
FORGET ABOUT WHAT STYLE IS BETTER, THEIR IS NO SUCH THING! CHOOSE THE STYLE YOU FEEL MOST CONFORTABLE WITH, DON'T BE AFRAID TO ADD NEW THINGS TO YOUR STYLE. EVERY STYLE OF FIGHTING IS MENT TO BE COMPLETE.
IT IS THE FOUNDATION OF MARTIAL ARTS TO KNOW THE DEFENCE AND OFFENCE OFF EVERY ATTACK, ON THE GROUND, OR STANDING. REMEMBER TO MAKE YOUR WEEKNESS STRONGER, (STUDY ANATOMY THAT HELPS) THIS TEACHES YOU HOW YOUR BODY WORKS, AND HOW YOU CAN MAKE IT STRONGER. AND ADAPT. ANY ART OF FIGHTING IS A MARTIAL ART! INCLUDING ARMED FORCES, THIS MUST BE DIFICULT TO UNDERSTAND FOR NEWCOMERS TO MARTIAL ARTS. AND IN ASIA THEY CALL IT KUNG FU! . PRACTICE EVERY DAY UNTIL THE MOVMENT BECOMES A REFLEX.
good movements-i show basically the same but with the class that includes women with small hands and weak wrists we have them do a hammer fist strike using pinky side of hand or the frearm -to strike at neck ,face area-not complex movemetns-simple so when under stress they respond andf do n ot think of what to do- oldsgtmajusmc in clarksville tn
@silversification Defendu teaches you to ALWAYS hit first and keep hitting untill the enemy is either incapacitated or dead. This is covering he is doing. He is just not going in depth about it.
I like how the guy picking throws half assed punches, and the goofball chopping gets all into it...nice. But then again, this is for Da Streetz!!! Sverige knows boxing and wrestling are only good in the ring....
@WinterSoldierLSD And the chopping is the edge of hand blow. It is one of the most lethal weapons on the human body. I box and have been hit with fists and let me tell you, The edges of hands hurt way worse and do A-lot more to you than you think. I can take a punch all day but a few of these is enough to incapacitate or kill you. This is world war two hand to hand combatives. The creator of this system had over 100 confirmed hand to hand kills on the battlefield and has been proven to work.
Anything works if the guy doesn't resist; this is garbage. Many ways to defeat....a good clinch man will thank you for crossing your arms in front of your body; a good boxing man with a slick jab will thank you for relying on your reflex in trying to parry his blows.
@WinterSoldierLSD You don't understand how defendu works dude. He is not going to sit there. He is explaining. If it was for real then he would constantly be on the guy and Moving forward. Do some research into it. I would recommend googling the SELF DEFENSE TRAINING SYSTEM and doing the free trial and doing some additional research into the roots. You may be surprised.
@thepurpledragon5 I see Jailhouse Rock too, 52 Blocks, Keisei or whatever. It's all there and they all take a page from SE Asia. What is this "style?"
@bullmeecham Fairbairn combatives and its not a "Style" Its not a martial art. Its a combat system developed in world war 2 by William E fairbairn for The british and American soldiers. But I see where your comming from and yes your right. Peace
@thepurpledragon5 Thanks, I did not know what this was. Very interesting. I have read and looked into Fairbairn, Sykes, and Applegate over the years. I did not know his (Fairbairn) style culminated in this art. So this is great and I'm glad I stumbled onto it. Thanks again.
lol this is funny to me. yes the technique is effective, but what i would like to point out is that a lot of crane style kung fu has alot of similar blocks to it yet when people hear "kung fu" they somehow are all like "oh oh that's inefficient and wont work..."
@megasayajinsongoku99 I would recommend researching "Camp X" This is where they took every style that was known at the time which included but is not limited to Thai or known at the time as "Burmese" Boxing, Karate, judo, jujutsu, kung fu of many styles, Boxing, savate, fencing, and several others.
Gents, check out a few things , two boxers,Jack Slack , and Archie Moore both used this guard with great success, then look up a guy named Carl Cestari, I highly doubt that you will feel this material is in effective. , grab some gloves for the puncher and give it a go i think you will be surprised, as far as Bjj and MMa go , they are effective methods for sport but are deficient for street fighting , Bjj will get you stomped to death by all of his buddies while you are trying to tap him out
Chiliepeppa, Man are you kidding? Fighting is Chaotic, wild, and furious not all laid back like the goof in this vid is. He looks like a fake wanna be Steven Segal! This guy would get KTFO trying this crap or worse! Go Join an MMA, BJJ, Wrestling, or Muay Thai school man and learn real fighting before you get the living shit beat out of you with this crazy ass bullshit! Seriously!
it could be against an untrained person. The guard defo works better than trying to block, ive used it in mma and boxing for years now.The knife hand has little power compared to a punch though.I have open hand slapped lads to a tko in modified mma rules so in combo with the knifehand it could work.
THEY BOTH NEED TO WORK ON THEIR ABS.

I think boxing ( at least old english pugilism boxing) has also those techniques...

@megasayajinsongoku99 You are correct. And defendu was derived from that and almost all other styles imaginable.

@thepurpledragon5 Indeed but so far I know mostly from judo and chinese boxing ... Fairbairn had a training under Jigoro Kano so far I remember !!
