  • Thanks for uploading this great reminder that a world without advertising is not unthinkable. Sao Paulo has been like this now for 4 years - amazing.

For ideas how we can easily reduce our exposure to those thousands of ads every day check out reportsfromearth. com

  • Crazy Penis

  • Sao Paulo probably did a good thing. Here in L.A. we are shown outdoor advertising almost everywhere.

  • Billboards can be strikingly aesthetic structures without advertisements. Cool vid.

  • my dad and i work on billboards

  • Damn I am trying to remember this movie I saw its about this kid called Ryan and this ass hole rich kid does anyone know what movie I am talking about???

  • If you're referring to the music it's from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Gene Wilder is singing. x

  • This is São Paulo!!

  • dam i love these ads

  • this is quite good :)

  • i wish they'd take down all the billboards in the US. We have the most amazing scenery in the world, but there's too many billboards to see it. They're like pop up ads while you drive. You absolutely can't do ANYTHING in this country without being pummeled with ads. BTW..this comment is brought to you by Sprechie Chocolates. Get them at Costco for $8.99

  • Actually, there's a coupon now, for $1.99 OFF!!

    GET IT WHILE IT LASTS!!!!!!

    FAP FAP FAP FAP. FAP!

  • I completely agree!!! someone should do something :/

  • where is this filmed?

  • são paulo, brazil

  • ohh thnk u:)

  • Give me 2 weeks!I could sell evey space emptied in that city!GIDDYUP!!!!!

  • i'd like to know who's making this line of ad's for sky. this isn't the only one and they are very good, which makes a change! love the music and thy're beautifully shot

  • Isn't it? I can understand why Sao Paulo banned outdoor commercial clutter, because by all accounts the proliferation of it was causing many of the city's problems, but this film is GOOD advertising - pure art, that makes you think - and I don't think anyone can be against that.

OTOH I loved the shot of washing hanging on the old billboard frame - kinda poignant, the reclamation by ordinary people of something once used for capitalistic profit. I wish more cities would follow this lead.

  • Wow, anger management anyone? Your trollish attitude merely detracts from what is a valid point.

No, I don't like most advertising. It's aesthetically tacky, frequently explicit, offensive, or in dubious taste, and above all is intended to convince people to spend money they don't have on stuff they don't need. Recklessly spending our way to fulfilment is responsible for the current crisis; given that most of those jobs you mention are slave labour in China, maybe a new approach is needed?

  • I apologize for my vulgar language i overreacted because i don't know i am just one of those persons who hate anything that makes a city or country look Communist. I don't know how to explain but i apologize and get your point.

  • Not a problem. FWIW I'm not the greatest fan of communism either (mainly because I don't like being told what to do by the Government, and that's basically what socialism has become all about) but on the other hand I do think there's a lot wrong with the current system and there has to be another way. It's also worth noting that Brazil isn't a communist country; quite the opposite, it's one where unrestricted capitalism has gone crazy, which is why such drastic action was taken in Sao Paulo.

  • As we lay in the ruins, not opening our eyes. The cities shadow a message of destruction... a feeling hope is lost. Humanity is cornered. But still a light shines through, one soul comes forward and whispers the hoping message... His name is Pez7675, man kinds saviour and follower who lives amougst us as a regulaer human... he is a superhuman.

  • OMG why did I post that.... :(

  • lol

  • wtf lol yes y did u? are u super human?

  • I love this song and advert so much, it's just beautiful!

    Thanks for posting it

  • "Pure Imagination"

Lyrics and Music by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley

    Performed by Gene Wilder

    been humming it ever since

  • I think that world would be boring!

Before I knew what this ad was for, I was thinking "What ad would be an anti-ad?"

  • Hi it is music from Charlie and the Choclate Factory. It's shot in Sao Paulo where the Mayor banned Billboard advertising because the city was looking dirty and cluttered. Keep up.

  • Does anyone know the name of the song used in the new Sky movies ad?

  • thats actualy a smart place to shoot the ad

because the advert is actualy saying you can

watch movies on sky movies with out any ad

breaks. so in a way is a genious idea!

  • Despite where it's filmed, this song actually makes any area seem amazing...

  • its brilliant how you see the sunset over the city it feels relaxing

  • that ad is beautiful.

trhe music reminds me of that bioshock game.

  • that would be a great song for bioshock :)

  • interesting

  • Stange but kl.....somthing simple but it's pure imagination.

  • well someone had to do it (use sao paolos advertising removal) but im confused as to why its taken so long for them to do this it was removed in june.

  • this advert always comes on after lost on sky one i love the song its amazing lol

  • The song is Pure Imagination, sung by Gene Wilder from Willy Wonka film

  • wat song is this coz its well gd lol wb

  • wow the world looks really depressing!

  • poor world without ooh ads....:)

  • The irony. Sky Movies using footage of Sao Paolo's lack of advertising to advertise itself.
