  • "Poopsie"? o.m.g.

  • hahahaha I love these little shorts.Only in Canada.

  • Oh lordy! I remember this from grade school and never forgotten it...the cat(it's in the refrigerator, next to the cream...don't call me POOPSIE!)

  • II remember that cat and his constant mentions of cream after 40 some years!

  • I love the final line: "In the end, all was chaos and fire. The gods were angry. Again."

In other words, humans are stupid, and, given half a chance, they WILL screw up.

  • YES. A THOUSAND TIMES YES. I have been looking for this forever.

The "...Cream?" thing has been a running joke in my family for years. I was under the impression it was called "Where There's Smoke...".

  • @Lonpon Yes!!! You're not alone in that...it took me many, many moons to remember what it was called, too...

  • This got nationwide US airing on ABC-TV when it was shown as part of the saturday morning TV show "THE CURIOSITY SHOP" , show #4 titled "TOOLS" first aired on OCT 2 1971 at 9am e.s.t. Still as disturbing as I remember it at age 8!

  • @GOJIRAFAN1963 - It also aired on "The Great Space Coaster", minus the credits, so it was only several years later that I discovered it was a National Film Board of Canada cartoon.

To this day, I still find parts of it VERY creepy!

  • A mouse... FLAMBO!

  • @Greenless001 Me 2

  • The first time I saw this was in 1982. I was thirteen, and the film had been out for about eleven years. it was hilarious back then, and is still funny!

  • I first saw this in Eugene Levy Discovers Home Safety. Anyone else?

  • @Phydeaux3bot It used to air all the time on Canadian channels in the 80's and early 90's. I have no clue how I initially saw it.

  • NO! NO! NOT THE FORK!!!

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

  • "The next time, we give the fire to the woman." Umm... weren't they watching Poopsie's wife leaving the iron on and then trying to put out the fire with a perfume diffuser??? ;)

  • @kaisaid1 lol I think he prefers Ralph

  • As a kid back in the 1970's, I can remember how this short film was shown alot, at least once once every summer camp vacation.

But why Can't I find 1979's - National Film Board of Canada's; "What The Hell's Going on Up There" ?

    Biting humour, OUCH!!.. indeed.

Abolafia does point out who is running the show (only few Jewish jibes). So he does set it to 'brainwashing' sarcasm kindly make alittle fun at America's way of looking at the world. Overall the short film creates true laughter.

  • @Ellipser Hmm, I do believe you can purchase that particular DVD from the National Film Board website...but I haven't seen any links to a free viewing, myself... still, we can hope someone will post it here one day! :)

  • "ALL RIGHT, ALL RIGHT, I SAID"... one of the greatest married couples in cartoon history.

  • @number1scatterbrain "Always asking me questions?!" Killer material.

  • @number1scatterbrain But They Got A Divorce At The End, Right?

  • This scared the shitting hell out of me when I was only little. :C

  • @teratophobia Same here!!!! But now, as a twisted adult, I find it oddly fascinating... :)

  • @teratophobia Not Me

  • They used to show this on PBS. Haven't seen it since I don't know how long.

  • @WestVirginiaRebel What's The Name Of The Show Again? I Understand Grover From SS Was There.

  • @cstoczyn - Not Grover. Goriddle. This puppet (along with Gary Gnu) were on "The Great Space Coaster". They were played by Kevin Clash, who later joined the Muppetteers on "Sesame Street". He's most famous for bringing Elmo to life.

  • @OofusTwillip Long Live Kevin Clash!!!!

  • WHERE'S THE SUGAR??????????????????????

  • @Jetangerine Mary: Oh, In A Minute, Poopsie.

  • I first saw this on "The International Festival Of Animation" in the late 70's...never thought I'd see it again. Thanks for putting this up!

  • @CousinSinister No problem! I first saw it way back in the 70's, too...but it's obviously quite unforgettable! :)

  • @kaisaid1 Yeah

  • @CousinSinister Thanks

  • Hey, here's the cream! Thank you!

  • @skaleewag You're Welcome

  • @Greenless001 Poopsie! LMAO!! "MY NAME IS RALPH!!!!"

  • @kaisaid1 GO RALPH

  • @Greenless001 That's terrible that it didn't show up sooner during your dedicated search! :O Which proves, I suppose, that the YouTube search engine isn't all it's cracked up to be. :( Wow, I wonder how many others have missed finding it in all this time...? (Mind you, the thumbnails that I had to choose from didn't really illustrate any of the great moments from the film, so it's not easy to spot right off the bat).

  • @Greenless001 It's funny that so many people remember this awesome video, but so few people remember the darned title to it!!! (me included) :)

  • "Go back to your apple turnovers" lol, classic!

  • My family and I have been saying "Where's the butter?" "It's right next to the creeeeeam." for years. Took me that long to finally figure out what his cartoon was called.

  • @genbendotcom Me 2

  • shown in my technology class circa 1997.

  • @Montork O I C

  • "Master? You're not listening to me."

    Lmao.

  • @shimay96 Poor Cat

  • Oh no poopsie, No poopsie! Not the fork! Oh no!

  • @rockerchickomg30 Stop calling me Poopsie!!

  • @TrainmasterCurt Poor Ralph

  • Thanks for adding this ... I've searched a very long time and actually found the main website that has it hosted ...

"How about a nice hot mouse, Mouse Flambeau"

    Hahhaha too funny

  • Now stop it! Please, I have to wash the rocks!

  • @kaisaid1 LOL

  • Easily my favorite of all the NFB shorts.

    A Mouse Flambo.

  • @FSinWCR LOL

  • No problem! I too saw it as a kid, but those fire-demons (combined with that intense violin music) gave me nightmares for years!! Now, of course, in my advanced age, I love every bit of it... :)

  • @kaisaid1 Or Should I Say Fire Monsters!

  • Love this-- saw it as a kid and am glad to see it posted. Thanks!!

  • @baculite182 Thanks
