something I noticed which it doesnt exactly specify in the data sheet is the DIP8 chip. "4558" can mean many things depending on the letters that go infront. Basically, what 8 pin chip did you use?
@ConorNosThrill I can remember the exact chip I used in this pedal, I could have used any OPAMP i had at the time. I imagine the 4558 is probably the JRC4558 often used in tubescreamer mods, try having a look for that or some alternatives used in the tubescreamer. I had a quick look on wikipedia for the tubescreamer and it mentions TL072, RC4558P, and OPA2134
@TheViewFromUpThere Im guessing by overhead paper you mean the transparent plastic sheets. No you can use these, they'll stick to your iron and make a horrible mess. The magazine paper you need is very cheap thin but glossy, print onto it with either a laser print or photocopier (If the printer has trouble with thin paper try sticking it to a normal sheet of paper with prit-stick)
i think the bluebox has a control allowing you to blend between a distorted signal and a square wave, however since the blue box output a squarewave this will be a fairly synth like distorted octave signal. you may want to look at another octave, the blue box is a noisey little box
I made the board myself i think using the pcb design on tonepad. building PCBs isnt too tricky try searching 'toner pcb magazine paper'. I used that method and i prefer it to blue press'n'peel
if your interested ive posted some links in the video discription of the PCB and the final pedal
hi im not quite sure what your asking, what guage or just how many? its just a 6 string if thats what you were asking, in that picture some of the shadow makes it look a bit like there are more
hey the guitar is a fender squier tele, nice guitar its sea green i think, since recording this i have installed a seymour duncan hotrails in the bridge

If you watch "watch?v=cUzMMuNbOMw" you can see that you mounted the Blend Pot the other way around. Your fully down is original fully up.

One more question: What kind of output jacks did you use?

Can you etch with overhead projector paper and not magazine paper?

@notanother That was my exact problem. Sticking it to something else is genius, thank you very much!

Is there anyway to wire a dial to control the pitch of that suboctave?
elmedi0 2 years ago
do you mean in relation to the guitar? or so you can control the pitch independently

Is there a possibility of builting blue box without fuzz? I want just octave down to get pitches like on a bass guitar.

I was debating building it but now i've definitely got to...
Did you buy their pre-made board, etch your own, or use a protoboard? If etching/proto- was it difficult?

thanks man, I was deciding on whether or not to build this, but this video sold me on it :)

wait, so are you modding the circuit on the guitar to have a built in blue box?
brddork 4 years ago
no its just a pedal, not intended to be built into the guitar i just happened to take the photo whilst the circuit was sat ontop of the guitar
notanother 4 years ago
ah, alright. looks like you could route a place for that circuit pretty easily though. That'd be kind of cool, actually. hmm...
brddork 4 years ago
yeah it wouldn't be difficult but then you would need an internal power supply.
also i tend to use a limiter before it as the standard guitar output is fairly weak.

what is the string of your guitar?...

Cool. Could I get a schematic for this. Its basically just mixing a square wave with your signal.
