  • what would be the best way to animate weapons on the character like swords or a helmet?

    great tutorials by the way!

also is there a general "rule" for when to use deformables and when to use rigid? i'm still abit confused by the difference

  • very helpful indeed :) curious what do you use more physique vertex? or skin bones?

  • If anyone has problems, Here is the sequence to rigging the char, took me an hour to figure out.

    (Select)

    *select vertecies

    (Assign to Link)

    *Pick Bone

    (Select)

Repeat untill done with the whole char.

  • One quick question, what do you do with the peices of gear(peices that weren't assigned with physique vertices types) to sort of attach them to the biped/mesh so they stay in place during animation, and also could you easily detach a peice? for example: Weapon sheathed(stuck to side of char), and then character grabs the weapons and pulls them out

  • Ohhh is that just IK chains?

  • Hey, really enjoyed watching these tutorials about rigging with biped, and especially with the High-Def option.

Have you got anymore tutorial that follow on from this, that can help with rigging the rest of the character, as this mainly focuses on the head and neck area.

    Thanks!

  • I havent actually done a full body rig tutorial as i like to show a bit and leave the rest to you guys as its better for you guys if you understand it on youre own. But i will think about recoring me fully rigging something.. Take a look at my channel for more vids.

  • you should make a tut on how to rig a med or high poly models

  • yea i could do, but i'd be showing skin as oppose to physique. I just did physique as its a part of character studio (biped) and simple for low poly stuff.

  • well i'm trying to rig a left 4 dead hunter model

well i got the rig done but just need to do the vertex part.

  • guys amazing

  • do bones tht kind of hard lol

  • best Physique tutorial for internet tnx

  • OH. Thank you so much :)

  • These tutorials are great but right now I'm stumped... I dont see the red/blue/green coloration on my character like you do, all I see are colored verticies and I find it difficult to know what areas im affecting. Did I miss a step? I'm using 3ds9

  • Iwkya1 told me you go into the "Envelopes tab" scroll down and click the option "Shaded", so when you select your verts the character model will become shaded :)

  • it didn't work for me :( I just see the same old crosses everywhere

  • have you got wireframe on or off. try hitting f3 or f4.

  • Nice thanks a lot! :)
