@Siliven hello, yes i have played the diatonic, there are a few videos in my youtube account, several years ago. I think I like the sound of the diatonic but it was and still is too much work for a lazy guy like me to master basic techniques in order to play any songs i like on diatonic. Way easier on the chromatic even if the sound of the chromatic is not as entertaining for audience, who cares? I'm not playing live on stage anyway :-)

hey man that's beautiful! I'm harp player myself but I play the diatonic though. Always wondered how difficult is the chromatic in comparison to the diatonic, do you have any idea? I suppose it would take more multi-tasking seeing how you much pull the lever so to speak while playing?

Hello, I started with the diatonic but I found it too difficult to learn the tongue techniques and prefered having only one instrument to play all melodies, so I simply focused on puling the lever I found it much simpler that way.

Hi, those are not tabs but standard music notation, and I bought the music sheet at the time when titanic was in the movies theaters. I got the backing track from a karaoke video on youtube. For "i just called" it's a "band in a box" music file I'm playing from. Which I've find on a yahoo group dedicated to band in a box software.

I also played with a C chromatic, but I don't know the key of the tune, I'm not good in music term, I simply taught myself how to read music sheet with the basis I had in high school. I just know that the music sheet I read from is exactly in the same tonality as the original song from celine dion.

i cant really understand what's the use of the tail of chromatic harmonicas.

when you press it, it increase whatever note you're playing by half a tone. That's all it does. The notes layout of the chromatic is not exactly the same as on diatonic. So basically with one chromatic harmonica you can play all notes without ever needing to alter a note by means of your tongue position or any other note bending technique mandatory on the diatonic harmonica.

I don't know, but the answer from people who masterize the diatonic harmonica's note bending technics will answer yes, because lots of notes if not all are available on a diatonic, if you have practised the note bending technics long enough in order to be able to reach any given note on any given diatonic harmonica's key. I don't remember if this song is simple and could be played easily in the given key, you need to get the music sheet and see.

There are two ways of doing it, one is like me to put your lips like if you want to whistle, and keep it like this when you blow/draw. The other one which I haven't trained on is to open your mouth very wide to cover 4 holes, and then with the tongue, block 3 holes and blow/draw in the one left open. The problem with the second approach is that I find it more difficult and you put a lot of saliva in the harmonica, not good, the advantage is that if you know how to do it you can play special ways

Yes, the sheet music provides a number of things to play, but usually I only play the part of the singer or the "melody". That's how I do it in all my videos and in general since I began playing harmonica, that's why I don't know which chords I can play on a chromatic, I never play any.

Yes, it might be the microphone he's using and/or the type of chromatic harmonica he owns. Also he plays in a different key than I do (I follow the titanic's music sheet) and often he plays several notes at once when I try to play only one note at a time.
